Have to be new pairings because of how many of the dancers have moved on from the show if they got celebs from earlier series.

Johannes, Karen, Michelle, Carlos, Cameron, Fleur, Hamza, Tyler, Richie, Mollie(?) and of course Motsi are all poc. Then there’s Ellie who has dwarfism (a group of people who are seriously underrepresented and when they are, it’s very often derogatory).

That lunatic wouldn’t be happy unless AJ was brought back, dropkicked Rose in the middle of her showdance and declared the rightful winner of last series and every other series from here until eternity.

This makes no sense: last year’s show was acceptable because it featured Oti & AJ, who had darker skin tones, but this year it’s ‘disturbing’ that Fleur East has a lighter skin tone, and is proof that they are ‘only’ casting light-skinned black women? 🤔
 
It’s a dangerous era we are entering now with all this PC stuff. She’s a crackpot but one of many that feel and think like this.

An ‘all stars’ series is a great idea in theory, but realistically the cast would be limited to and skewed towards recent contestants/pros - it’s almost 20 years since, say, Jill & Darren / Ramps & Karen won, and even if they were willing to come back and give it a go they’re not going to be able to do justice to their dance ability back in their series.

So many of the former pros have left dance behind and moved on to other ventures too, so passage of time plus years of not dancing full time or at a professional level would make it very hard for them to compete against the current pros. It’s like when you watch the veteran matches at Wimbledon: you can still see elements of the skill and talent that made them great back in the day, but they haven’t got the fitness to compete against the current top players.

It reminds me of a disagreement I had on another forum, a billion years ago, when someone insisted that Alesha Dixon would never win as only white people win Strictly: I pointed out that Mark Ramprakash had won, but they insisted that he didn’t count as they regarded him as white. 🙄
 
Would love to see a series with some of the old pros back. Maybe even Les and Arlene.
Brendan, James, Ola, Erin, Aliona but loads more.
 
I’m so gutted I didn’t watch Strictly when Aliona was on it! She seemed like she had an attitude and a bit about her which I love. Cba with all the jumping about like fanny when they announce the phone lines are open and I feel like she wouldn’t entertain that 😂

i LOVED natalie (and she should have won with ricky whittle) - what a lovely person she was/is. she was wonderful on the strictly show where they danced with “civilians” too and she had an ex-military guy with a prosthetic. it’s bugging me that i can’t recall his name.

edit: the people’s strictly! and his name was cassidy, i wonder why they never did this again:

 
I feel like it’d probably be a tit show but hear me out;

I would love to see a week where the celebs have to teach a random person part of a dance. Only 30 seconds or so (and do the rest with their pro) and only towards the end of the series (maybe semi final when they have to do 2 dances) but it’d be something different
