Seems a lot of us are feeling frustration and disappointment on here this morning.

It's not right. We want the joy and sparkle back. And more half nekked male pros.

I agree. I don't think it's completely dead in the water, it just needs a bit of a shake up. Less faffing around, more dancing, if you're going to have themes stick to them, and stop with the cringe stupidity, e.g Ellie S as Velma, the homer simpson dance, Richie and Gio in onsies. It's just nonsense that there is no need for. Tony is a good example of fun while still trying. He doesn't dance the greatest but he still is entertaining to watch. You don't need the stupidity imo.

I find Helen a bit bland generally but I liked her last night when she said after the dance she thought she was giving it a great lick and then looked back at it and thought the opposite. I'd rather see her win than Will (but it will be Hamza).

Trying to be as objective as possible (because Helen and Gorka are my favourites), but I can see why she is resonating with the public -

she's not the most outgoing personality, but I think a lot of people like a no-nonsense, unshowy northerner

She's showing lots of improvement and taking what the judges say on board, especially with the performance side of things (she looked so nervous the first couple of weeks compared to the last two) and she looks like she's really enjoying it now and wants to be there

I think a lot of people might appreciate that she isn't using a sob story in spite of her circumstances

I get she's not everyone's cup of tea and I understand why she's getting the bland comments, but I think there's a lot to be said for the public clicking with a contestant who just works away with a good attitude and improves

She isn’t my favourite but I agree with the above and also think (happy to be corrected) that all of her dances have seemed to be full of content, and been recognisable as the dance they’re meant to be. I think that counts more to the public than people realise, even without specific dance knowledge people can twig the difference between mucking about and actual steps.

I HATE that! The second the dance finishes they start jumping up & down, punching the air and shrieking ‘YES!!! YES!!!! YOU NAILED IT!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!’

It absolutely ruins it 🤬
The other thing that I find annoying is the booing the minute the judges say anything vaguely negative in feedback. I love the fact that the audience is back but want them to let us hear what the judges are saying.

I had a look on twitter last night and there was a lot of praise for her foxtrot from Strictly purist types who just appreciated a ballroom with lots of content. I think this is one of Gorka's strengths: Maisie's tango had a similar vibe - a few flourishes at the beginning and the end but 90% proper tango in the middle and all the better for it

I personally don't mind when the pros mix it up a bit and add other stuff, but the transitions need to be smooth and fit with the dance - I think that's where Nikita went a bit wrong last night

Hi all,

I’m new to watching strictly this year, I’ve just seen the odd episode/had it on the background before.

My question is, in your opinion, is the winner usually the right person? Most years are most people in agreement that the right person has won, or can it sometimes be a bit questionable? I know some folk might prefer a different dancer to have won but do most people usually agree that the winner was deserving?

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Kym was really good this week, the best rumba on Strictly for a while, I would have put her top of the leaderboard. I liked Monkseal's comment about Kym finally finding herself in the role of murderous ice cold snow witch 😆

What was Anton on last night? That wig went to his head. He criticised Molly's AT and then gave it a 9, gave a 10 to a Cha Cha that had hardly any Cha Cha in it, and then said Ellie T was his favourite dance of the night before giving it one less mark than he gave Tyler 🤷‍♀️

I like Helen, and still think she will be in the final, but she's not the runaway winner I thought she would be at the start. I wouldn't rule her out just yet though, her journey is still progressing nicely.

Hamza is an angel and I want him to win, but it feels too early to say he has it sewn up already. I know he's way ahead in the exit polls and the bookies favourite, but there are still 7 weeks to go. Whatever happens though, I think he will do very well out of this career wise, and that's all you can really hope for from the Strictly experience :)

There was national outcry the year Danny Mac lost. Complete anarchy 😂

As there should of been Danny was robbed.
Okay so maybe I have to be honest though that was the first year I watched strictly as I fancied Dodger in Hollyoaks and my anger was based on that fact not because of his dance ability.
Danny Mac was robbed.

I'm not arguing that anyone else should have won. I am saying there was (rightfully) national outcry.

Still WTFing over Anton giving Tyler's cha cha chasn't got any content a 10. Craig was right in his criticism - even my 7 year old was asking why he didn't do anything with a straight leg. BTW he's an Amy fan sadly but he instantly took against Dianne "the annoying lady" 🤣
