Karen & Mark are my all-time fave Strictly couple. Can we not get Karen on the judging panel?
I remember her name being mentioned a lot when Len announced he was retiring. She used to pop up regularly on ITT to do Choreography Corner and she was even a judge on the tour the following January but the BBC went for Shirley and Karen’s not had anything to do with Strictly since. I think she lives in New Zealand these days.

She would have been a far better judge than Shirley and I think she’d have been a lot more in line with Craig when it comes to scoring. She definitely wouldn’t have tolerated all the faffing about and loose interpretations of what a dance should be.

I am strictly obsessed. I move social things so I can watch it on Saturday night. I love the build up, I love the live shows and I love it takes two, especially when it’s rylan. But this year I don’t get excited about a single couple… I just haven’t got anyone who makes my hair stand on end. Yes I like Hazma, Tony and Tyler but they don’t excite me. And I always always forget Helen. And I miss Alijaz. And I hate Halloween. And (controversial) I don’t really like Ellie S on this. Sorry Ellie… Oh big surprise is that Jowita is a real fave. That’s all for now 👋🏻

i could have written. I just don’t care for anyone this year. Molly is my favourite but if she left I wouldn’t be disappointed. Last year it felt like everyone was my favourite.
I also don’t think any one is that good. Some are great but even then ones who are and are coined as the best wouldn’t have done as well with last years cast. I think Hamza, Fleur or Tyler will probably win it but I don’t think any of them would have even made the final last series

Nobody seems to like the themed weeks then! Is it just that there are too many or is it because the standards have dropped? (Or both)

For me, I LOVE a themed week if done properly ie relevant, un-tenuous concepts/music/styling etc and all done to wow us and put on a spectacle which is a step up from a 'normal' week.

I've always looked forward to Halloween week more than any other week but this year's felt half-arsed and underwhelming.

Did they not have the budget/resource to do it justice or did they just not care or run out of ideas? Some poor couples really were done up like big fat kippers!

i actually love themed weeks but when they actually stick to the theme. What’s ScoobyDoo and bee keeping have to do with halloween? The song doesn’t have to be a Halloween song but at least make the storyline Halloween themed

Terrible decision wasting Molly and Carlos couples choice on the Grange Hill theme tune  they had an amazing song this week for a contemporary routine with a ghosty theme or even Strangers things as Max and Vecna, but instead we got generic sexy vampires and messing about as school kids last week

I’d suggest binning Couple’s Choice. It’s pointless, as no matter which of the genres a couple chooses (street/commercial, jazz/theatre or contemporary) it generally involves a lot of ‘acting’ and running about manically whilst gurning at the camera.

A lot of the time, if I miss the announcement, I can’t tell which of the three they’ve chosen.
I don’t think they pick from a specific style of dance anymore. If they do they don’t mention it but since Greg Wise last year did a disco style dance I’m pretty sure they just let couples dance any old thing that suits them. Though some pros like dianne will always do a street commercial.
I actually don’t mind couples choice but think they should make it a set week a bit further on in the competition.

We NEED her

When it was first started and the couples did either a ballroom or a Latin, the starter dances were the waltz or the cha cha cha which implies they were the simplest ones,

Samba and Foxtrot being the hard ones people got to try after a while because of all the technique (which means people doing a week 1 samba to me is insane).

Now the chat is all how difficult the cha cha is - sooo hard, soooo horrible.

Yeah this has puzzled me as I am sure I remember them putting it first so they could have a gentle start!!

The CC thing is also annoying as it is basically a free pass (not always, looking at you Molly), but not everyone gets to do one.

Fleur - Welp, I assumed she'd be bottom two about 20 seconds into the dance. Just a mess. Wouldn't know it was a Salsa. Can't believe no one looked at it and went 'no' in time to change something. I'm sure she could be better than this, sort it out Vito.

Molly - I don't feel like it quite hit the mark but it wasn't a 6 ffs Craig.

Tyler - Kinda liked it, wanted to like it more, but too much weird choreography and not enough Cha Cha. What was Anton smoking with that 10? First time since Dev's Cha Cha I've been really annoyed with Dianne's choreography. Just so much random bleeping about, why? Terra and Sasha's Cha Cha was the same theme and the dances on DWTS are barely a minute long, and he still put more Cha Cha in it as well as the Beetlejuice references.

Will - Better this week. I think the choreography really worked. Hate to say it because of his endless whinging, but I think it was better than Tyler's.

James - Bye bye, Bye. 😂 Seriously if he somehow survived that and someone else went I'll be fuming. Poor guy was stitched up, but he's surely got to go. Isn't he supposed to be an actor? Why does he make the same face in every dance?

Kym - She did quite well. Maybe just enough to dodge the dance off. Why they gotta disfigure my boy Grazianos' lovely locks every week though 😭

Tony - Don't think he'd have made it this far with anyone but Katya. She's a little short for him though. It was good, but no one else would have gotten 8's for that. Well, except James I guess, whose Quickstep was also overscored.

Ellie S - Dance was just too slow for the music. Can't tell how much is to do with her disability and how much is the music, but eh, not great. Terra and Sasha's Foxtrot was way better, but I suppose Nikita was hamstrung by the theme. I got the impression they were focusing hard on technique, when they could have faffed about more and made it more entertaining, but it just didn't quite work. But it annoys me, frankly, that Tyler could get a 10 for about 15 seconds of cha cha, but Ellie still landed near the bottom of the leaderboard when she was in hold and doing basic Foxtrot steps for about as long as she could reasonably be expected to considering it's not possible for her to actually do it properly. Unless she made footwork errors, I guess, I wouldn't know.

Ellie T - Wanted to love it a bit more than I did. Wish the choreography had been a bit better, and bloody Johannes overdancing again! I feel like she could have given it a bit more energy too. She acted it well though.

Helen - I guess I liked it, but it was also forgettable. Costume annoyed me, why was it pink instead of a proper Little Red Riding Hood costume?

Hamza - I can't tell if it was good or not because the costumes were too bulky. I kinda felt like it seemed a bit lumpy, but it might have been the costumes. Felt it was slightly overscored, but atm I still want him to win.

i can see why Fleur ended up in the bottom two. Her spins/twirls were pretty bad and she looked really heavy footed and like she was just plodding from one bit to the next. Also it just wasn't much of a salsa, really. Choreography was shite. Kym is absolutely a much more refined dancer than her so if they ever go against each other in the DO fleur will be gone.

Dear points of view,

Re Strictly and Halloween i suggest they just dress up spooky, re-use some good Halloween songs from previous years (and not find new ones about someone being like an evil bee cos they were an awful lover)

Get rid of couples choice - or the only choice they have is to select from the ballroom or Latin that celeb would like to dance, not anything outside those. And no rising like a phoenix stories.

Thank you,
Superfan becoming superfrustrated.
PS Tess is pointless and I don't want my license fee wasted on her wardrobe

Wasn't that one of Lens pet peeves? He used to pull them up for wasting 30 seconds fannying about before they got into hold ! I miss Len !

Len was meaner than Craig, I liked him in the earliest seasons but towards the end he got progressively ruder and ruder. He went so far down in my estimations the week he told Brendan to “put up, keep up, show up” the week after he’d been home for his dad’s funeral. Think it was the year he was partnered with Lisa Snowdon and she’d had a different pro for a week whilst he travelled.

Can I just once again point at that Katya is a genius and deserves a ringer next year.
She really is. Also her attitude is amazing!!
