Loved Kym and Graziano's Rumba and I hate the Rumba.
She is a good teacher
I remember way back when, Ian and Anton saying (possibly on an ITT ask the Pro section) that they spent the first weeks of training … in the early days there was about 5 or 6 weeks between meeting up and the first show … teaching their celebs the basic steps not a routine, the routine came later because then the basics are in from the start and once you have the steps, the routine is easy (kind of proved when Alesha and Matt both forgot the foxtrot just free-styled their routine and no one was any the wiser) They also said about the dances flowing one from the other … there is no point doing a rhumba before a cha cha because basically the rhumba is just the Cha Cha slowed down.I've felt a bit like the standard of teaching and dancing has dropped this year and I wonder if its because nearly everything is back to normal. The last couple of years have had covid restrictions so there was just a focus on the dancing. This year they're being pulled in every direction doing VTs, extra silly filming promos, ITT, awards ceremonies and premieres etc. And for the first time in a while, most of them are also busy with their day jobs while doing strictly.
I was genuinely impressed: so often a celebrity does the rumba with a slightly impatient air (if they are the energetic type who wants to fling themselves about in Latin) or a slightly embarassed air (if they are a bit quieter and prefer the formal ballroom dances)Loved Kym and Graziano's Rumba and I hate the Rumba.
My friend said that Graziano looked like Haunted Brendan in his get up, and that’s all I can see now.I was genuinely impressed: so often a celebrity does the rumba with a slightly impatient air (if they are the energetic type who wants to fling themselves about in Latin) or a slightly embarassed air (if they are a bit quieter and prefer the formal ballroom dances)
But Kym hit that aloof, restrained note perfectly, she got the flow of the dance spot on, and Graz' choreography was pretty damn good. It all worked so well for her, I love it when a dance suits a celeb so well.
Completely agree with all of this. I also think it's why so few seem to improve now - they don't get the chance to.I remember way back when, Ian and Anton saying (possibly on an ITT ask the Pro section) that they spent the first weeks of training … in the early days there was about 5 or 6 weeks between meeting up and the first show … teaching their celebs the basic steps not a routine, the routine came later because then the basics are in from the start and once you have the steps, the routine is easy (kind of proved when Alesha and Matt both forgot the foxtrot just free-styled their routine and no one was any the wiser) They also said about the dances flowing one from the other … there is no point doing a rhumba before a cha cha because basically the rhumba is just the Cha Cha slowed down.
which is where I feel the celebs now are a bit shortchanged. They don’t get the time to learn the basics before week one and the dances are just thrown at them hodgepodge. Fleur hasn’t done a ballroom dance for 3 weeks’ so when she does get one again, it will be like starting from scratch. And she’s not the only one.
Whoooaaaaa!Get rid of Tess, I’d also ditch Claud tbh.
I find Helen a bit bland generally but I liked her last night when she said after the dance she thought she was giving it a great lick and then looked back at it and thought the opposite. I'd rather see her win than Will (but it will be Hamza). It definitely was James’ time to go. I can’t help but feel if it wasn’t for Gorka and her possibly getting the sympathy vote because her ex is an hole of the highest order that Helen would feature a lot more in the DO.
It’s almost like the producers are sabotaging him so he doesn’t make it to the finalI didn't love Hamza this week (sorry ) but I think it was because there was too much fabric going on, obscuring the crispness of the footwork and the attack. It looked like two blobs moving across the dancefloor.
Jowita should've been in skirts or Persian-style trousers not both. I'd have preferred Hamza's fabulous tunic finishing mid-thigh so you could appreciate his legwork and frame!
Definitely Will. Seems to have the vote and is the kind of contestant to keep getting votes. I would definitely put Helen instead of Molly: I predict a Molly v Helen or Tyler semi-final DO with Molly leaving.Who do we genuinely think will be in the final, not just who we want to be there? I have three (potential) definites but the fourth could be out of a few.
I think Hamza, Tyler and Molly definitely (although Molly will be close to being booted a number of times)
And for spot four either Kym, Helen, Fleur or Will. I don’t really think any of them should be there but it can’t be anyone else
