Nobody seems to like the themed weeks then! Is it just that there are too many or is it because the standards have dropped? (Or both)

For me, I LOVE a themed week if done properly ie relevant, un-tenuous concepts/music/styling etc and all done to wow us and put on a spectacle which is a step up from a 'normal' week.

I've always looked forward to Halloween week more than any other week but this year's felt half-arsed and underwhelming.

Did they not have the budget/resource to do it justice or did they just not care or run out of ideas? Some poor couples really were done up like big fat kippers!

🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶Better singers️‍🎶🎶🎶🎶
Less themed weeks
Lower marking
Less background/family/staged footage (training is ok)
Remove Tess, Shirley, Motsi
Results on Saturday
I know it has been said many times, but replace Tessbot with Rylan. She has been there donkey's years and is no better. Rylan is far wittier and spontaneous.
Craig should've been made head judge when Ken left - was he offered it and turned it down?
I actually think Motsi is getting better with her critiques. Just needs to cutback on the need for the feedback sandwich - that bloody say something nice, insert actual constructive criticism, say something nice.
Shirley has favourites, then overcompensates when criticised about it and wildly over marks others.
I did like Anton, but he is starting to believe his hype too much.

I think three a year is too many (movie week, Halloween and musicals week). I get not everyone can still be in the competition at Halloween but I’m just not that into it - especially if they’re going to play fast and loose with the songs 😂.

The 100 year was an additional one we didn’t need. Although after reading here about the Michael Buble week on DWTS, I’m now worried we’ll have an Ed Sheeran week one year, and that would be too far

I'm in a minority here but I like a theme week if it's done well, just not two in a row. Last night desperately needed a standout dance and before the show, I thought either Hamza, Fleur or Ellie T were being geared up for that, but it didn't happen

Also, no opening Halloween pro dance on the Saturday show? I know a lot of people will think that's no great loss, but I missed it as they usually set the tone (although last year's with them all dressed up as villains hopping around to Harry Styles was downright odd). Maybe just one of those things cut for budget

Not surprised about the B2, but sad for Fleur as it was her birthday. I'm hoping she'll get a ballroom or rumba next week so she can slow it down a bit and do something different. I feel like James overstayed his welcome by a week or two so no great loss

Agree on all points other than Motsi, she’s not sexist (unlike Shirley) she’s tonic to Craig occasionally playing up to his mean judge persona and I do love/laugh at what she’s wearing each week.
Absolutely more training footage, don’t give me fake ghost hunting
Would like to add GET RID OF NEIL (the ginger one, for the tattlers dad)

Like others have said, I love a theme week when it’s done well. Give a couple a good theme, a good song and a good costume and it can be brilliant. Things like Faye’s Theatre Jazz on Halloween or Jay’s Pulp Fiction Jive worked really well (but they were also excellent dancers and the standard isn’t as high this year).

I can see why they have theme weeks because it breaks the competition down into three week chunks and, ideally, stops the whole thing feeling like a slog. I’d suggest they need to retire some of the current themes and try something new because they’re clearly running out of ideas; however, after BBC week, I wouldn’t trust them to come up with anything decent.

I’m not at all sad to see James and Amy go. They were very dull.

I feel bad for Fleur landing in the DO on her birthday but it’s not surprising that she found herself back there especially with a dance that felt like a return to the freneticism of her first dance.

A rumba would be great for her, but I fear that the great British public is making her another Alexandra (albeit not as good a dancer!). I would definitely like to see something more simple from her and not overwhelmed by theming. The fortune teller stuff wasn't even relevant to the dance, though I did enjoy Vito's outfit and the bit at the end in particular

Also: get rid of CC! if Fleur and Vito had done that salsa as a CC they'd have got 9s and 10s not 8s. Ellie T basically got table-topping marks for running around.

I’m being grumpy, but I’m starting to get so tired of the hammy acting before the dancing begins. I hope it’s taken into account when scoring those who don’t fill up some of their allotted time with climbing in or out of a prop whilst gurning manically!
I just want to see clever, well executed dance routines.
I thought Ellie S’s routine was awful - again using props and costumes to hide a lacklustre routine.
Tony seemed to have greatly improved last night, I also enjoyed Ellie T’s dance.
I thought everyone else was ok but not hugely memorable - maybe I was only half concentrating on it.

Dance off wasn’t surprising tbh. It was James time to go even if he had grown on me a little from backstage stuff I’d seen. As for fleur she just wound up unlucky that she was next bottom above two quite popular dancers in Ellie S and Tony it could’ve anyone who got 32/33. The only reason Molly avoided it was because she was there last week.

Some people are saying Fleur isn’t liked but I don’t think people don’t like her. She was fourth from the bottom yesterday with two ties above her which is a weak place to be, and had a salsa that didn’t really look like one.i also wonder if people felt the dance wasn’t very Halloween

I really like Halloween week but agree with many that two themes in a row is too much

Yeah, I just watched it back and it's great as a commercial routine, just not as a salsa. I'm a bit annoyed as I would have loved to see her do a non-theme salsa with decent music

Agreed. I also think Motsi adds a much needed dose of comedy to the panel - she is a good balance of genuine feedback / constructive comments and funny / silly remarks.

Also - get rid of Shirley and make Craig head judge
- scrap couples choice 😴
- lose the long VTs full of stuff no one cares about. More footage of actual training!
- ban the word “proud” from the entire show / collective vocabulary
- Rylan would make a great lead presenter although I do think Tess is nice if a little robotic
- lose one of the theme weeks….. I’d pick musicals to go.

To improve next year I would cut down to 12 couples.
In the first two weeks every couple have to do one traditional ballroom and one Latin. Charleston and AT not to appear until after Halloween.
Drop couples choice.
Combine movie and musical week, having both is too much.
Stop the ridiculous high scores.
Get rid of Shirley.
No “comedy” VTs, they add absolutely nothing to the show.
Judges to stay sitting down, apart from the leaver’s goodbye dance.
