He was partnered with Charlotte Hawkins, who was absolutely shocking to be fair. I think he had her do Shirley’s signature move in the Cha Cha and it went horribly wrong.
then they had a Tango … which must have been movie week because Brendan was having great fun as Maverick (original version) on a motor bike in a leather jacket … which was also dreadful, and Brendan went full on white knight .

didn’t shirley also forget charlotte’s name while speaking to her that year too? i always thought that was super rude, so i could get him being annoyed with shirley because of it. they definitely didn’t like each other though.

i always liked brendan too. the male pros are all great in their own ways but getting to be quite similar - he added something a little different.

Yes, she called her Molly, and I was shocked by what a rude, condescending tone she said it in too. Almost seemed deliberate. She really picked on her, put on that 'scolding a naughty schoolchild' voice, really uncomfortable to watch. I don't blame Brendan for being pissed off that year.

That was Shirley’s first year on Strictly as well I think. Obviously trying to stamp her authority from the get go

I didn't like Brendan. Thought he was cocky, standoffish and I wouldn't have liked being partnered with somebody as volatile as that.

I’m not a fan either tbh, but we were given tickets for his ‘solo’ tour and I was surprised at how good it was. This is going back about 10 years probably but his brother was there and he (Brendan) came across as a really nice guy. He just came across as a mardyarse on Strictly though!

Wasn't that Kelly Rowland on the X Factor?

Molly and Carlos seem to be rehearsing at Sylvia Young theatre school and this will prob be part of her VT for the CC looking at the camera equipment. I guess it ties to the 'school' theme but wonder if reminding everyone you went to stage school is best at this stage of the competition?

No point trying to hide it I guess. Molly is really growing on me. She's really good.

Did anyone else see Jayde’s stories where she’s screengrabbed a tweet from William Hill saying she’s favourite to go this week? She’s put ‘the bookies are fatphoboc’ . I genuinely hope it was tongue in cheek.

What’s the feature or the theme, it’s not clear from the video. It just looks like a normal routine to me from Kimberly Walsh.

Kelly did dance with Ian Waite one week because Brendan was in New Zealand for his father’s funeral - perhaps you’re thinking of that?

Agree re Molly.
I don't know very much about dancing but I thought, especially last Saturday that she actually looked like one of the pros.
And 100% agree, she had better NOT, or even worse end up leaving before Jayde, whom the judges are pussyfooting around.

Hamza is simply adorable and their dance last Saturday was amazing. He and Jowita are perfectly matched, imo.

I think she is a great wee dancer, but perhaps could be overlooked when the voting happens, she doesn’t project ‘celebrity’ like some of the others. If she ends up in the dance off, she would be saved, surely ? I feel that Jayde won’t be out until the judges start marking appropriately, because she must have a big public backing to keep her in. As it stands , she may survive unless she ends up in a dance off. But if this is merely an entertainment show, and not a real competition, as has been pointed out to me, then if the public want her, and they like her, then her performances don’t really matter. Perhaps she will pull it out of the bag this week. There was someone years ago who was really rubbish, but kept going forward on the public vote, quite a few better dancers were eliminated. Cannot remember who it was, think it was a man. Even the judges were giving him low marks. Anyone with a better memory ?

Hope so but doubt it. Apparently she was foul to some Eurovision fans when they criticised her on a Eurovision podcast about 3 or so years ago so I guess she just can't take criticism. I can't stand contestants who do poorly and then try to blame it on some sort of discrimination.

Its happened fairly regularly since series 1 with both men and woman celebs (Chris Parker, Kate Garroway, John Sargent, Ann Widdecombe etc, etc, etc), with dance off and without, but John Sargent is the one most often quoted because he is the one that had a couple of ITT’s dedicated to him and the fact that firstly that he got through and secondly that he resigned.

The John Sargent Memorial Panic really kicks in between Halloween and Blackpool when The bottom of the leaderboard gets voted through without troubling the bottom 2.
