But what you said in the second part of your post is what I’ve said before and I believe @Guitarwarrior to be saying too - they do manipulate elements to protect certain people. Dan Walker = popular BBC presenter - he’s had dances to suit his frame and abilities. Of course they don’t manipulate the Strictly vote numbers, that would be a complete no no and I’m certainly not suggesting they do that.

Who knows if Ugo was down for a rumba in the week he went out originally but it worked out well that he had a tough dance that allowed minimum input because of his back. He was just given the job of Question of Sport weeks before so I’m not sure he was ‘scheduled’ for a rumba that week 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tom Fletcher was good at his Paso but he got the proper costume and music compared to some others who are shoved on in an ill fitting outfit with some random One Direction song!

I said weeks ago I thought Greg’s stint was mutually agreeable and sorted before he started and I’ve seen nothing since that has made me change my mind.
I do agree with you, I think I expressed myself poorly. My comment on the vote was related to people to say it’s a fix or that it’s all completely planned by production. Bill Bailey was definitely not who the producers thought would win last year.

I really don’t understand the fix allegations, clearly Rose / AJ / John are the top runners closely followed by Tom (🤢), maybe Rhys but him and Nancy just ate forgettable. And then the others were likely to be going sometime in the next 4 weeks. Tbh after Dan, Adam was probably the next worst so it would’ve been his time to go next week regardless

Oh come on! my mum would say exactly the same even though I've two left feet! 🤣

Adam's posts are a bit odd about Katya, I think: maybe he's just being careful not to be too affectionate or something but seems almost impersonal, compared to him welling up on TV. Anyway, I am off to write my highly researched Masters dissertation about what I think really went down during their partnership..

Adam didn’t really say much about Katya when they were eliminated in the dance off. He said “I want to thank Katya, the other dancers, the judges, etc etc etc”.

He didn’t single her out for praise or was over gushy about how great she is and how much he learnt from her. She was just one of the names in a long list of people he was thanking.

It wasn’t until Katya started blubbering that he showed any emotion

It’s also the Boaty McBoatface aspect of the great British public - comedy voting - that is the wild card. John Sargent, Chris Hollins are two I can think of who benefitted. Ann Widdecombe was more about torturing Anton. Jack Dee packing to leave Big Brother every vote and winning the whole thing
Even Chris Ramsay tbh, he should never have got as far as he did just off dancing ability

I wonder if she will though, getting the impression that she’s the next female pro they want to win now that Oti has done it. Her partner assignments have been better than those of Dianne and Nadiya who joined in the same year.

She has made a bit more of an impact than them, I suppose. Perhaps with the right partner she'd be more palatable? She's had OTT Karim, boring JJ, insufferable Tom... but she got them all reasonably far. I mean, I say this hoping Tom will be out sooner rather than later but that seems unlikely.

Something seemed to change with Amy and the whole Danny John Jules thing for me but I don’t know if she changed or I just noticed a different side to her. I don’t think we got the full story there and I don’t doubt DJJ might be hard work…but when she had Karim the following year, she seemed less of the twee, girl next door dancer she had been before. She seemed more…ruthless? I am in no doubt they are all super competitive but I think others do a better job at containing it. And nobody, absolutely nobody in the history of Strictly screeches as much as she does.

I had a great time reading the Tom and Gio (his wife rather than Mr Pernice - I kept getting confused thinking ‘eh? What was he doing with them?!’) thread at the weekend

Yeah, I thought that was odd too. I am not sure if he didn't want to show any emotion or be accused of being too affectionate, or what. Katya's tweet said they had both been crying buckets so behind the scenes things seem different. I would also say that putting on my *Judi James body language analyst hat*, he has been all over the place with her, so either he's concealing something or just doesn't want to show emotion in public too much...

Oh yeah, I forgot Danny! Yes, I think something went amiss there and she was partly to blame. I do find her uber competitive and the screeching is very grating, I also don't find her very interesting to watch. I get the feeling she'd be willing to murder somebody for the glitterball. It's funny though because I did really like her in her documentary.

I remember her full-on screeching when she got paired with Karim during that launch show and it was the first time I realised quite how competitive she is!

That clip definitely hinted at some awkwardness. In all honesty, I'd rather Neil didn't come back next year, he might have been hyped up by everyone in the dance world but it hasn't translated to Strictly and I can't think of any positives about him as a pro. Bring in Jowita's partner Michael instead!
I think Neil's a good choreographer. If he had been given a partner like AJ - he could have been top of the leader board.

If Craig doesn't like the show without Bruno, he can walk - the viewers are the ones whose opinions matter, not the judge who is on a huge salary.

I'd replace all 3 judges, make Anton permanent and head judge and bring in ex pros for the other spots, I'm sure there are many who'd be up for it. (I bet they wouldn't cost as much as well!)
I don't trust Shirley at times!

It was a bit hectic.
love Claudias Boots.
Is Motsi’s chest bigger than ‘ last night’
She's hiding Neil in there!!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

When I saw they had Adam up to dance first, and then not being very generous with the scoring, I did think they were helping him on his way a bit. Usually after a bottom two appearance they might give someone a more favourable slot in the running order to give them more of a boost.

Maybe it was all the press stuff about the almost kiss or they just thought he had run his course? Or a bit of both. I do think they wanted to keep Rhys out of the bottom two for this week at least - the optics of three black celebs leaving (and being in bottom two) in successive weeks isn't great
Controversial I suppose but I do wonder if black celebs are ignored/not favoured as much by the voting public. Rhys isn't my favourite but he hasn't deserved to end up in the bottom 2. I had a soft spot for Ugo, if anyone was going to get the 'likeable dad who can't dance' vote why not him over Dan? Hope to see AJ do as well as she deserves once the public vote starts to affect those at the top of the leader board more.

I don't see it as a race thing as plenty of black celebs have done well, and oti has won twice and johannes is still in. I think its more to do with a lack of a following and people who will vote for you. Rhys most people who vote have probably never heard of, and I can't imagine there are many rugby fans who vote on strictly.

Dan has a big bbc following, plus religious, no tbh I really like him. If I voted I'd consider him, he is one of the few who doesn't have experience, also has the height issue and seems to be a nice guy genuinely enjoying it. As a personality he is easy to warm to.

I just had a look at Adam's mums twitter feed and yikes. She's been on a bit of a RT spree and seems to think it's a big conspiracy to keep BBC employees in

I get she's gutted for her son, but maybe when your kid is the absolute best in the world at what he does, then it might be difficult to accept he might be a bit tit at some other things. His scores were a bit harsh, but at the end of the day he wasn't that good a dancer and not enough people voted for him 🤷
