He was signed on in 2010 and dropped out at the eleventh hour. I don't think he's really in demand now (pops up every so often on ITV or TalkRadio and that's it) so I'm sure he has the time to be on Strictly. I'd be very interested to see what dance ability he has.

Ah I didn’t realise that. The last I saw of him he had a week or so on GMB but that was a while ago.

I don’t have any problem with Bill or anyone having any experience, but it’s when Maisie is singled out for having experience and being the only one vilified for it, it’s just the double standards that Maisie has faced, but I have no animosity towards Bill, HRVY, or any contestant who has had dance training.

It’s like how Danny Mac had dance training because he was an actor, and I absolutely loved him, best dancer ever on Strictly in my opinion. Maisie has probably had the same amount of experience as Danny Mac but only ever faced criticism for it.

It’s the same every year though and that won’t change unless Strictly get an even a playing field as possible...and they won’t do that because it probably wouldn’t be a ratings hit.

I have no problem with the fact Maisie has had dance experience, because it’s been up front from the start. I think she’s a fabulous dancer and she’s such a joy to watch, you forget she’s not a pro. Not everyone wants to see that though.

It’s an unpopular opinion here but she’s just not my cup of tea. I can’t warm to her at all so I wouldn’t vote for her. I get that she’s 19 but I don’t view someone who’s being on telly for 15 years as a “normal 19 year old”. She’s allegedly been seen smoking a joint while driving and she was stopped by Police and spoken to about speeding just last week (and I think if that had been HRVY there would have been a lot more talk of it) and that kind of stuff changes people’s views about someone so it might not be because she’s had training.

I’ll be surprised if she wins but it wouldn’t bother me if she does - two years on the bounce where the best dancer wins might change how people react to Strictly. But imo, up to last year the best dancer would never win so Maisie is just getting the same kind of stuff that the others got.

She seemed different that year. We were in the audience when Brian was eliminated and there was a few takes of what they said to each other etc and she was so lovely and genuine. But I think that was maybe her first year?

I agree with you in principle, but that would rob me of the opportunity to see Bill’s Rapper’s Delight again. The judges should’ve picked a ballroom or Latin for Jamie to repeat.
