And wasn't there something a bit funny with Laura? I seem to remember gossip that she was meant to be with somebody else, and they swapped late on because she was friends with Georgia, who he'd just split up with. As if it had been done in the hope of drama.
 
I can see why there were problems with Victoria Pendleton — sportsperson, young, fit, pretty and slim so would look nice in the dresses, off the back of Olympic medals so good chance of public support. Basically perfect on paper, and I think he thought he had a good chance of winning. Sadly, the dancing and stage fright was a bit of a problem!

He probably could have been kinder, but I don't think he was expecting her to find it as difficult as she did, so he kept pushing her because he thought she should be able to do better. Unfortunately, she couldn't.

I remember thinking pre series that Lisa Riley would be rubbish while Victoria Pendleton would be the best dancer the show ever had. Then the first show came, Lisa was top of the leaderboard and Victoria was bottom.

Victoria seemed like the nightmare contestant for a pro - overly competitive but not much ability and also didn't have a particularly joyous personality so I think she may have been difficult to teach. I doubt it was much fun working with her.

A majority of the pros have been competition dancers, and incredibly successful ones at that. They still manage to make the focus their celebs and not just on winning for themselves. When Kevin won I felt like it was it was very much an "I won" situation and not "We won".

I definitely feel like there are some pros who are focused on making the show a great experience for their celebs, and there are others who just want to win for their own sake. The likes of Aljaz, Karen, Dianne, Janette all just want their celebs to have an amazing time and to experience the show, whereas I think some of the others (not all) just see their partners as vessels to get their own win.

Her pregnancy announcement has had me a bit 🤔 Big statement about how it's their news, their terms etc and quite aggressive in tone but then a shedload of pictures of her showing off her bump that presumably we're meant to fawn over. Seems one extreme to another!

oh my god, James was so cruel to Georgina! Does anyone remember when she’d been having a tough time with him so Brucie gave her a packet of maltesers at the end of her dance right before judges comments and James actually took them off Bruce, saying something about how she didn’t deserve them! He made her cry so many times, I was only like 7 at the time but he was horrible and have never liked him since!
 
How you all remember these partnerships and particular dances in such detail from past series amazes me.

I can't even remember all of the partnerships from the beginning of this series (except Caroline and Johannes) - I salute you all.

And I think tonight, any one of them could win.
So im hoping it will be exciting.
Its on quite early isn't it?
Or is ithe final always on at that time and I'd forgotten?

I've watched every series and even after looking her up, I don't remember her at all! Bloody hell though, poor girl.

Apparently Georgina is on record as saying that she did deserve the bollocking he gave her for being late. However, malteser-gate was totally unnecessary.

James seems like someone who is extremely domineering - no idea what drew Ola to him.
