I tell you what though, I bet Kirsty is cursing the day she set eyes on Harris right about now 😂 She’s probably tempted to join Tattle and go even harder on his looks than we’ve been doing. Safe to say she won’t be making him any more ‘Live Love Laugh’ birthday cakes. She’d be sailing off into the brave new world of Suffolk council without a care in the world if he hadn’t pushed it one step too far with the horizon GFM.

This is why it’s always a bad idea to get yourself involved with a toxic loose cannon who has an army of haters. If that’s the man you’re going to employ, make sure you’re as squeaky clean as clean can be, otherwise you’ll get caught up in his inevitable downfall. None of this would’ve come to light if Harris wasn’t such an arse.

Or even if he was just a serial GoFundMe-er but always did stuff that went direct to charity. Annoying, not the most effective of altruism, but nothing to raise suspicion about what is happening to the money. But at least for me, it was as soon as I realised it was hitting bank accounts controlled by him that I was like "you what"

You found the breakdown of expenses on ECC’s website didn’t you? Do all councils do that? Or have they been hoist by their own transparency petard?
 
Even if you just forget all of the GFM stuff. His whole persona and rhetoric on social media was toxic. He gained notoriety by picking a side and being so vitriolic towards anyone who didn’t subscribe to that worldview. He wanted nothing more than to piss off a “baddie” and then gloat about it. He relentlessly bullied the likes of Sophie Corcoran multiple times a day. Think what you like about her politics but a 40 year old bloke tweeting the sort of abuse he constantly doled out to her was just weird.

If I was interviewing someone for any sort of job and found out that they ran Facebook groups like “Are Cuntry” which was a vehicle for smearing and mocking anybody with a different political view, or “U OK Hun” where he just ridiculed working class women all day, I’d just say, no. duck off, you’re an imbecile. Let alone give them £500k 😳

Of course he attacked her. She's the same as him. Someone desperately trying to use social media to cobble together some amount of fame or notoriety. Except she has the defence of youth.
 
Judging by comments on newspaper articles and replies on social media, it's clear that the vast majority of the public (i.e. everyone who isn't a FBPE melt) simply don't buy the ECC excuses nor Simon's statement.

Regardless of what happens with journalists and the police looking into GFM, the bounce-back loan and his relationship with KOC, he's done as an anti-Tory commentator and social media presence.

How can he have any credibility left when he's benefitted from such a huge loan (from a Tory council no less) for tasks that just don't justifiably match to the amount given? As someone quipped on Twitter, he's had his own VIP lane. ECC bears the brunt for piss-poor management of finances, auditing and due diligence, but this whole debacle has pretty much left Simon as the Emperor with No Clothes.
 
All he's ever wanted since he popped up on forums 20 years ago was to be funny and have internet fame. He had no talent for photoshop or animation. He wasn't funny either.

I think I might be right in saying, but Jackie Weaver of Handforth Parish Council fame, came close to almost justifying it.

I am dissappointed.

Of course this has nothing to do with the fact that she knows Simon and Kirsty (I doubt she was paid....but who knows...I am not going through the bloody spreadsheets again)

Back in 2021 she was asked to say something to go on their channels to "amplify" key public health messages and this she did, garnering with her at that time, significant fame, a huge 90 likes. But it's OK becuase facebook algorithms tell us that 83,000 people - that's actual people whose lives would have no doubt been transformed by the wisdom - saw - yes saw the video (gasp)



I seem to remember that Simon even listed as his employer on his facebook page before he deleted it of course - something that JW seemed taken a back by - Handforth Parish Council (side splitting)

What's dissapointing is that she made no mention of this relationship on Talk TV. Perhaps someone on the other place, can bring this to Talk TV and Peter Cardwell's attention (the presenter). Did she even suggest coming on, or was she just close to hand? Peter and his team would surely know.

She says something that I have been wondering for a while. Perhaps they bid for (or were just given) funds that were ringfenced but they couldn't work out how to spend it, so went with Fat Knacker rather than give it back. That isn't entirely his fault, but is down to their lack of imagination.

ETA: It also speaks to a rather dim view of their own residents. To think they won't read official information on council social media accounts, but do enjoy the unfunny recycled jokes of this loser, so let's use him.

Could it be a an accounting thing? Councils often do roadworks at the end of the financial year because they have to use up money or they won’t have it next year. Perhaps their penny pinching was a little too successful in 2019 and they had surplus funds so gave it to this clown.

ETA: sorry, shouldn’t have said clown. Clowns are at least mildly amusing and don’t recycle the same jokes about Center Parcs over and over.

I don't know how these things work; is it 83,000 different people, or 41.500 people watching it twice, or 20,750 people watching it four times (etc)?
 
Wonder if Jackie "You Have the Authority" Weaver was one of the "very famous" people who had some funds flow through Simon's account in her direction for her time and wisdom.

God pandemic era UK was loopy, you forget, don't you, and then you're reminded that a woman who chaired a local council meeting got a milquetoast lean in feminism book deal after some other people were nobs to her and it went viral. And an elderly Tory walked round his garden while recovering from hip surgery and his daughter went on to build a spa that broke planning permission. How will we explain this to the future generations
