The stuff like Are Cuntry he uses as an outlet for his real sexist and racist views. I've always suspected an account on Facebook called Miserable Zippy was him - telling the sort of jokes he'd really rather post but knew the sort of people that he'd found a big audience with would be disgusted by. And funnily enough that page I have just seen posted last weekend to announce it was going to be taking some time out. What a remarkable coincidence...

No one actually said anything he claims ... yes, some people can be quite unhinged about immigration but that's true of any political issue (you need only look at the Echo or any other local paper and someone's going to be absolutely frothing at the mouth about parking or littering or tourists etc.) He's labelling a whole bunch of people ignorant and hateful without even the most basic idea of what they've said/done - and HE voted for Brexit! What a hypocrite

Wait what? How's he squared that away with teh FBPE send cashos crowd?

condescending, snobbish cunts. Many people who feel the brunt (probably not the best word) of mass immigration is those in under-funded, under-privileged areas. The councils put these people here without adding anything to the services in the areas - interpreters for schools, doctors appointments, hospital treatment, dental appointments, etc.
Many of the people who express the sentiments these friendless fucks are taking the piss out of here, feel abandoned by politicians who promised them improvements and never delivered. They then see asylum seekers (many are single males) being housed quickly in their areas, and see them having access to services and support they can't get for themselves. i'm not putting a popular opinion forward here, i know that, but in my view i can very much see why there's resentment on so many levels. this doesn't happen in well-off areas.
That they pass this off as a joke, whilst making clear they think anyone who doesn't hold the same view as them is thick, is cuntish.

I understand the sentiment. I don't understand blaming the people doing the asylum seeking.

His 'now reformed' views on Hillsborough and his Leave vote offer some support for this take. He's absolutely the 'Barry' he claims to despise. The bleeding heart FBPE stuff is plainly the thing he found most profitable and he's adopted it as his online persona.

It explains why he's leaned into it so hard (he doth protest too much) and why his approach is so oppositional -i.e. why he frames everything he does in terms of how it will piss off the baddies. If he genuinely wanted to do good, he'd see his work as worthwhile on its own merits and without any need to peg it to some confected argument.

I absolutely loathe the punching down he does, and likes of Monroe too. Disillusioned, impoverished people with socio-economic instability are not a bleeping punchline. If we want to change poverty, childhood obesity, substance abuse and a dozen other problems, then a big part of that is reaching out to these people and making sure they are heard, understood and supported. In my line of work I meet a lot of people who have views that I do not share. It is my job to empathise, listen and support them. Not make them feel tit about themselves.

Every single word of this.

Here's something interesting - may be taken down at some point:

From about 1:18 onwards in particular

Talking about their suicide prevention work

O'Callaghan talks about rolling out training - first of all in Woodham Ferrers (Morter's area) and says they trained "about 450" (voice goes up) people and then goes on to say they have "to date trained about 45,000" (eyes to the side) people in Essex. There are a lot of "abouts" with O'Callaghan. The coverage then shifts to coverage of guess who, someone who has done the training. And who might that be you ask? It is our friend Simon. And where is he you might ask - at the Monkey Bizness nursery in Hockley. And which social media and comms specialist in the Hockley area has done promotional work and fundraisers for them you might ask? Simon Harris. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. But, if there are "about" 45,000 grateful recepients of suicide awareness training in Essex was this the only person you could get to speak so highly of it - or was that just for "expediency"

Happy for this to be shared

Why are they all so bleeping enormous?

From what I’ve gathered, KOC is a bit of a powerhouse, very into community and wellness stuff. I’ve done the MHFA training she was talking about which is excellent.
However , if she’s taken any kickbacks for awarding contracts to Simon then she’s in trouble and rightly so.
Powerhouse is not what I would describe her as. Before she deleted her profile she described herself, I think, as something like "social capital ninja" - which is part of the "personal branding" that got her to the position where she was able to act with the inpunity that she did. Just remember, at the root of all of this tit show, Simon Harris AND OTHERS (as LG intimates) being paid large amounts of money - and for what - and some of that contnuing to her new (now old) job - is KOC. There will be plenty who speak postively though - but that's becuase there was a lot of government money around which she was able, based on her favour, pass around to legitimate organisations. Many of these people will be feeling conflicted on hearing all of this, but they need to remember, even if they benefited, was it right, was it fair... how would that approach work in a different financial context?

So this pub - had £150k from ECC for providing food to vulnerable people in the pandemic. Now being used a training venue, possibly for more money.
What exactly is Kirsty's connection to it? Why was one pub getting such special treatment? It can't just be it was her local can it? Was she getting a nice little slice of the money possibly?
This pub is in the middle of nowhere too. Really only practical for the people of one village. Why was it not in Sth Woodham which at least has buses and a train passing through it, or Burnham or Maldon. Who were they aiming these courses at?

27K views, 26 reactions - and the acting, and I am assuming video production skills of Simon Harris.

It's kind of well intentioned - but you get the strong impressions they were meddling with content and subject matter which required greater expertise

Oh our subverted expectation is they aren't going throw themselves in front of a train? Grim. And the final message with implied alcohol isn't great either.
