Wait till the newspapers find out about the GoFundMe activity....
I am pretty certain there's nothing to it other than possibly poor administration and record keeping. If they (the papers) do do anything about it and I was in his positon, I would hire an accountant to examine accounts and publish the results - it wouldn't be a massive job for an accountant to do - maybe a couple of grand and would stand him in good stead when it comes to self assessment or any kind of HMRC enquiry. It would involve him giving them bank statements and the like. I am saying this in the hope he reads it.

The real issue is ECC and O'Callaghan

I was hopeful it wouldn't stay confined to local news and more explicitly right-wing outlets (Telegraph, Mail, Express) anddddd it's made The Mirror

How many times did he mention the NHS? Don't drag them into your dirt.

I think there’s a small part of Simon secretly enjoying being in all the newspapers and referred to as a “funnyman” or “comedian”. This one even says he “shot to fame” ffs.

He really is that much of a bellend.

Hope he makes the most of it.

He was the other director

Don't click on the link to his linkedin link if you google him - unless you have private broswing enabled within Linkedin, but "Ian Robinson" "Dodgy Drivers" - says he is now based in Pattaya in Thailand.

You couldn't make it up could you?

What I’d like is a compilation of all the various photos they’ve used of him. From what I can see, no 2 papers have the same. It’s like the editors have got a bet going on to see who can publish the most gormless looking Simon Harris picture.

The Telegraph thought they had it won early with the demented wrecking ball.

Yahoo went for the bearded Sumo Wrestler

Not a bad effort from Essex Live with the classic, “Hello cattle prod, may I introduce you to anus.”

All the others let out a collective, “oh duck, where did they find that?” When the evening standard dropped, “I woke up 5 minutes ago in a wheelie bin.”

The Daily Mail found this snap of him coming home with gawage snacks at 2.30 in the morning

The Mirror somehow caught the exact moment he first saw the LG thread on Twitter

Echo News couldn’t let old loyalties die easily and they tried to get a photo of him smiling. This is the best they could manage.

But I’ve appointed myself judge and I’m giving it to the Daily Express for this fine effort 👏

Essex Live also used one of the 'after' weight loss selfies, recycled from the 'Essex Dad starts a calorie deficit, what happened next will ASTOUND you!" article

I want the "if you're not a charity, drop me an email and I'll bung you a £250 'microgrant' for baby formula" looking into. This surely suggests that the money from that GFM that didn't go to the official registered charity "Feed" to dish out is, as Ted would say, 'resting' in Simon's account.

No matter who he was up against in a game of Shag or Die, I’d pick the other person.

My OH (hasn't left) has heard of practically everyone round that geo area. I asked him about Simon Harris. I described him. My OH has over decades spent a lot of time in Hockley/SoS. He's never heard of Simon. The first he heard of him, was me telling him about this thread.

Simon isn't even famous to the people in Hockley. 😂

More people know about a "sleeves down" Jack Monroe.

He was asking random people on Facebook to go and buy him some milk, if he gave them £250. 99% of the effort and attention was on the social media optics, 1% of the focus was on how to actually spend the money.

Like you, I don't think he deliberately set out to steal money from the fundraisers, as the value to him was the publicity. Being disinterested and totally incompetent when attempting to run a charity isn't a crime. It should however mean that people choose to donate to better run ones.
