Yeah absolutely. Samantha was my favourite but I have to admit it's easy to like her because she isn't a believable character. Fun, funny, non-judgemental, etc. Love or loathe Carrie she was a real person who was selfish, bitchy and made terrible decisions like many of us do - e.g. allowing that one person who's gotten under your skin to treat you like tit (Big) and constantly running back whilst ruining things with other guys who are much nicer and much more suitable (Aiden). It's real. I know lots of people like Miranda and Carrie, maybe a few like Charlotte but none like Samantha.

I also think that's why SJP behaved like she did towards KC - Samantha was the clear favourite despite Carrie being the lead. Personally I was shocked by how much they dimmed her light in the films, it seems like all of her funny/witty lines were given to Carrie imo. I think that was SJP's doing
I know someone like Samantha and she is fu*king fabulous!

Anyone else think that Samantha became a cartoon? At the start of the show she was believable as a confidant, sexually aggressive, single woman. But by series 4 had become a parody, getting sex anytime she wanted, with anyone she wanted, regardless of age, or situation etc. I also never bought her lesbian relationship either. She was straight, turned down the Brazilian woman, but then for some inexplicable reason changed her mind and had a relationship with her. Out of sympathy? The most she would have done was a one night stand with her, then moved on to the next dick. I thought the writing was ridiculous in that storyline.
Samantha was so flanderised to the point where she was actually socially inept and only could carry a conversation if it regarded sex and human anatomy. In season 6, she just brought up how she thinks her housekeeper is using her vibrator, in a public setting with the waiter at the table. In season 1, 2 and 3, she would never do such a thing, she could have serious conversations, was intelligent and could keep her sex life private. But by season 6 she was just a cum brain where everything was about sex and how many cocks she had that week.

Did you see that episode where they were at the deli eating, and Samantha says her boyfriend’s cum tastes funky...and Charlotte doesn’t say a word, just gets up and walks out? God I laughed so hard at that scene. I loved loved loved Charlotte.

Whatever we say about it, I am sure this new series will initially get an audience for the first few episodes at least. Depends how good it is as to whether an audience sticks with it. It's just odd to keep a show going when the whole premise of it has ended. They aren't 30 something singles looking for love anymore. They have all been married etc. They should call it "Middle aged in the City"

“Knocking on for Retirement in the City”

Maybe a Friends style reunion may have suited SATC. They could explore the old episodes/characters/fashion etc while discussing how times have changed, with guests such as Stanford, Marcus, Skipper etc!

I am excited for JLT because I love SATC. I'm not expecting it to be the same as the series but will be interesting and fun to watch.
