Can we just quit this ‘they” bollocks? We’re all adults here, not tween attention-seekers.

Nah, regardless of what you think of Che's character it's totally clear, and has been said in the show plenty that they use they pronouns. I wouldn't say it's bollocks, to me it's no different than making the effort to pronounce a name correctly or something and I'm certainly not up to date in all the correct terms. Has the LGBTQIA+ stuff been really done on AJLT to the point of being overdone? I think so. But to just flat out call a characters identity bollocks is a bit ignorant imo, whether you like the character or not is irrelevant but dissing their identity is.

seconded here
Completely agree

Always makes me cringe in the first film with all the "people move here for labels and for love" tit. Yes it shoe-horned in the whole "all dressed up in love" shtick at the end but for me it really summed up how they'd transformed the franchise to just sell tit
And don't get me started on THAT bag
Yes! The opening sequence in particular was such a jarring stylistic shift from the TV show. No wonder Vivienne Westwood walked out of the premiere. Agree that compared to AJLT it’s Oscar worthy though.

Can someone refresh my memory of the timeline? Did both films come after the series all ended? I need a rewatch after the horror of AJLT. 😬

Nope, still bollocks. Call themselves what they like but no one else should be forced to bow down to another’s personal delusions.

I’m watching the first film on Netflix now and I totally agree it’s way better than AJLT. Although to be fair, I never minded the first one, although the second was a crock of tit!
I haven’t watched AJLT yet but if the first film is better then that speaks volumes 😦

My friends and I quoted Sex and the City all the time. If we had a dilemma we'd refer to the episode with a similar situation. It had a big impact. I've watched the season several times and will still watch a random one if I'm flicking through the stations.

I will never rewatch AJLT.

It may be getting huge ratings now but I very much doubt it will bring in any more money after the initial airing.

I feel like the only one who actually likes the first film 😂 I mean, it is rubbish, but I do like it 🫣. The second film I found so bad, I watched it at the cinema and refused to watch it again 😆
I liked the first one too 😂 if it had never been made I wouldn’t miss it, but as a sort of standalone film, I enjoy it. It’s a lot of nonsense but there’s some lovely parts of that film…. Like NYE where Carrie runs to be with Miranda so she wasn’t alone.

First film was pretty faithful to the series although I didn’t like the way Louise’s character felt shoe horned in to make up for the lack of diversity in the series. It was definitely not a bad film though! Maybe I misremember. Second film was appalling
