I really hated this sort of exploitative TV and it always made me uncomfortable. We're basically laughing at someone who is out of their mind drunk, and who's to say they're not also mentally ill, in financial trouble (I'd imagine alcoholic actors don't have a lot of avenues as far as work goes) as well as addicted. I'm sure Ollie did it for the money, not for his career or reputation. Even as a young woman I found all this freak show voyeurism really sad. Same with Lynne Perrie.

Alcoholics are always in denial. Suppose it's easier to tell yourself it's easy money and you're having fun but it really is a deal with the devil and nobody wins.

For some reason I remember Michael Aspel doing this sort of interview with Ollie (obviously a bit more buttoned up and restrained) and it made me lose a bit of respect for him. Mr Aspel, I mean. We didn't see things through more progressive eyes in the 1980s/90s. Still troubling to watch, though.

I do kind of agree, however, Reed very much played up to this image of him as a hellraiser and was actually very, very shy so used drink to seem more 'interesting'. He was incredibly handsome and charismatic and a good actor, it's a shame he also had this other side. I like to think he was in on the joke though and enjoyed himself sometimes.

100% with you, women can be just as bad. And it's assumed as men we like it or don't care.

It's not as common as men harassing women, but it definitely happens more than most people think.

I've also known women get drunk at work Xmas parties, take off underwear and flash the room, sit on the dance floor with no underwear on and show everything to everyone. Probably as close ive experienced to Barrowman getting his dick out.
I’ve been to many Christmas parties and more girls nights out then I could ever remember. I’ve never seen a woman get her fanny out and sit on the dance floor. Yet you’ve seen multiple women do this?

Just reminding folks that statistics show that men are responsible for 97% of sexual crimes in the UK.

Yeah, he's not here for us to ask him if he felt exploited so maybe I'm over analysing it all! I did download the book Hellraisers - of course he wasn't the only functioning alcoholic (I'm sure Ollie was for a long time) who got into acting.

Humans are complicated, we just have to hope they have good people around them when they consent to these weird TV appearances. They are a glimpse into another timezone and wouldn't happen now.

Talking about women being abit fiLyly and handy as such, many years back in early 70’s I was going to a show, which was a meal and entertainment,my god it was a male stripper,no way could I watch it,I was so embarrassed, the women were revolting, calling out filthy things to stripper and trying to grab him,god it was awful.🥴

I have seen in several places that James Martin is in the frame to replace Gregggggg but since he is a chef it doesn’t really make sense unless they have given up the the idea of having an “Everyman” as partner to Torode.

I find it a bit hard to believe he, or another big ego chef, would want to play second fiddle to the long time serving 'star'

Also, James has had his own issues with bullying behaviour. So it would be an odd choice to replace one problem with a potential other one.

I've seen plenty of women flash their (frequently very small) knickers while drunk, as well urinate in the street in full view.

Flashing their breasts is pretty common as well, although depending on your stance on #freethenipple you might consider that different.

Women aren't even legally recognised as being able to commit rape in the UK.

Those who are assaulted by women - like myself - are certainly not encouraged to report. As I said in my previous post, the few people I have told have basically suggested I'm in the wrong not the woman who did it.

Official statistics generally only cover those convicted of offences. Over all types of crime, men are more likely to be convicted if a case reaches court.

Yep, sorry I know some women have issues believing they are also capable of things. It was an extreme moment admittedly, and at the one company. But yes I have. They were young at the time, early 20s.

But obviously your experience can only be the correct one 🙄

And no one said anything about men not often being the worst and most common offenders. You don't need to diminish others experiences to prove your point. Both can be true.

Why do some people have to try and 'one up' on experiences.

The same Andi Oliver who withheld tips from her waiting staff?

I thought it was on something like Television X or some other late night adult show. With a stripper in see through pants and he stood there knowing he would be grabbed by Lynne Perrie and she pretended to put it in her mouth. It was hardly an unsolicited grab where it was unexpected and he was taken by surprise as implied by the other poster
You're right, it wasn't on The Word, it was another show or video. She was steaming drunk on The Word singing I Will Survive.

I’ve said this before on here somewhere - but when Gino was on I’m a Celeb, he and another camp mate killed one of the (tame) rats they have on set and ate it. The Australian authorities were looking into animal cruelty charges and it was swiftly covered up. I remember because I had seen headlines online very late at night when this news broke, including in the Australian press, which had completely disappeared by the morning. I think he went on to win that series. ITV will bend over backwards to get the result they want when they have someone lined up for TV projects.

I think he fell out with Gordon Ramsey over that incident where Gino had brought cannabis onto a flight in his luggage - I believe it was a private flight organised by Ramsey, so Ramsey himself could have got into a lot of trouble over that, which would piss anyone off.

Anyway, I’ve never been able to stand him or his fake “comedy Italian” act. Burgling someone’s house is not something you can write off as a youthful mistake IMO, it takes a special breed of scumbag to do that.

However I did think he’d already effectively been ditched from ITV - weren’t there some reports a year or two ago about his sleazy behaviour?
Yep last year. They offered Fred counselling afterwards.

I think Gino may begin to disappear from our screens. No more Family Fortunes will be made and slowly dropped from This Morning etc etc

I noticed he has his nob out again in the trailers for his new show with Fred. He was always getting naked on the Gordon, Gino, Fred ones too. Time to put it away Gino.
