Men do dominate in certain sectors of broadcasting, like cookery and sport. And areas of upper management as well, I imagine, despite drives to hire more women in recent times. Greg (and others) will have been let slide by more senior men with similar attitudes, I have no doubt.

However, these sort of allegations against women are rarely taken seriously. Overly sexual comments by women are often regarded as funny or outrageous or quirky.

See our recent discussion about Miriam Margolyes. Or Paloma Faith quite happily telling Andrew Scott on the Graham Norton Show that she'd touched herself while watching him in Fleabag. Or Heather from Eastenders grabbing Steve Jones' crotch on that Let's Dance show years back - something I've never forgotten because she's disgusted me ever since.

I was SA'd by a woman and when I've shared that even in allegedly supportive places it's been shrugged off or I've been told "it's not the same", "women never do that" etc.

Are loads of women in TV pervs? Probably not, but if any are I'd be surprised if anything was ever done about it, not even the bare minimum done about some of the men.
I was intrigued so looked it up. Said it was an actress from Shameless called Alice Barry. I recognise her face from that.

It doesn't mention her being in EastEnders, though. That was an actress called Cheryl Fergison.

100% with you, women can be just as bad. And it's assumed as men we like it or don't care.

It's not as common as men harassing women, but it definitely happens more than most people think.

I've also known women get drunk at work Xmas parties, take off underwear and flash the room, sit on the dance floor with no underwear on and show everything to everyone. Probably as close ive experienced to Barrowman getting his dick out.

That is the woman I was thinking of. God knows why I thought she was in Eastenders? Too late to edit my post now, unfortunately.

I’ve said this before on here somewhere - but when Gino was on I’m a Celeb, he and another camp mate killed one of the (tame) rats they have on set and ate it. The Australian authorities were looking into animal cruelty charges and it was swiftly covered up. I remember because I had seen headlines online very late at night when this news broke, including in the Australian press, which had completely disappeared by the morning. I think he went on to win that series. ITV will bend over backwards to get the result they want when they have someone lined up for TV projects.

I think he fell out with Gordon Ramsey over that incident where Gino had brought cannabis onto a flight in his luggage - I believe it was a private flight organised by Ramsey, so Ramsey himself could have got into a lot of trouble over that, which would piss anyone off.

Anyway, I’ve never been able to stand him or his fake “comedy Italian” act. Burgling someone’s house is not something you can write off as a youthful mistake IMO, it takes a special breed of scumbag to do that.

However I did think he’d already effectively been ditched from ITV - weren’t there some reports a year or two ago about his sleazy behaviour?

I've said it before about music, but the same applies to tv, really. There's not many people, regardless of gender, where it would surprise me all that much if they were a perv.

I think its anywhere with power dynamics, especially industries with very aspirational and ambitious people who want to rise to the top. Even places like law and finance which can offer high financial rewards

There was also that incident with Lynne Perrie (of Coronation Street) back in the 90’s on some late night show where she grabbed some man’s bits. (In fact I think it was even worse than that). And there was a time on Celeb BB where they sent in some scantily clad male waiters to “entertain” the female inmates, and they got a bit handsy. All rather grim. It made me realise that male strippers at hen parties can have a really horrible time if the ladies get rowdy and start egging each other on.
I don’t think these incidents were laughed off exactly but they were still shown on TV as I saw them both. So I don’t think they were taken as seriously as they would have been if the sexes were reversed.

There was a Scottish restaurant where the waiters wore kilts but had to stop due to repeated gropings/attempts to lift the kilts/attempts to take photos under them.

I know it doesn’t happen as often as men being vile to women, but my husband is Scottish and wears a kilt sometimes. We were out 1 day and a woman walked up behind him and ran her hand up his legs to cup his balls. Then ran off laughing. He’s got a loud voice so he shouted ‘oi. How dare you. How would you like it if I did it to you. Oh no I’d be arrested’. She stood there as everyone looked at her, then said ‘I didn’t realise it was SA’. Seriously?? I was ready to have a cat fight. As for GW and Gino. I do believe in due process but with GW there’s too much coming out now. With Gino, I’ll never understand how he was a known thief but got work anyway with his faux Italian accent. Why is it some are forgiven for past wrongs-Ant, Gino, Philip etc but others aren’t. Do they have ‘things’ on people or 🤷‍♀️

Maybe they just don't give a toss so it just rolls off them, whereas that bloke from Coronation Street is absolutely devastated and looks like he hasn't slept after allegations came out about him.

Gino is a creepy weirdo. He’s like a bad caricature of an Italian with his over exaggerated accent despite living in the U.K. for thirty odd years. I remember the rat killing well, the Australian authorities wanted to prosecute him. He also burgled Paul Young’s home and stole items belonging to his wife, he served time for that but has never shown any remorse. ITV is as much of a cesspit as the BBC is but doesn’t seem to be getting called out for it in the same way. I suppose they have more money to silence the press.

I wonder if that's why he's not in the new show with Gino and Fred
