No worries, glad to help. I am a perfume snob, not ashamed to admit it! I have four of the Chanel Les Exclusifs and they are much better in my opinion, they all have really good staying power and I think they are worth the money.
What's your take on Le Labo? I like The Noir best, I think

Ive not tried any except for a free sample of Santal 33. BIG mistake!

i love musky scents and already have Narciso Rodriguez for Her and Portrait of a Lady (which is super strong).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good musky, woody scent, particularly with a good whiff of vétiver?

OK, I officially do not care for Santal 33

I am useless at describing notes, but I get this really sharp burnt smell

I'm tempted by Byredo Super Ceder, worried about the rose top note and staying powder.

I love Santal 33 though. Its a night time perfume for me though. I got the sample kit for I think £40 and it had loads of le labo scents. Bit hit and miss, one had me smelling like chapel.

Have you tried Guerlain's Vetiver for men? Even their Habit Rouge for men is good, except I once read that Tony Blair uses it and that kind of put me off for life.

OK, my first impression of Jasmin 17 is that it's way too cloying

No-one wants to smell like Tony Blair :ROFLMAO:

I love the Tom Ford Grey Vetiver and his leathery scents, but the I agree its too expensive. For that kind of money I'd rather buy a Frederick Malle fragrance...
Did it last on you? I love the smell and testers have lasted 2 days on my skin - didnt realise his didnt have a great rep. Smaller sizes are available on his website but not for grey vetiver :(

Sali's itbw sharmadean reid made me cringe when they were discussing I think the le labo range and said 'oh no I'm not so basic as to like the popular one' *eyeroll*

Hah! I'm quite happy to be a nice smelling basic.
Perfume metabolises so weird on my skin and floral scents give me headaches. I only really wear it on nights out. Even at that, the same bottle of le labo is 1/4 empty and I've had it 18months.

Yeah it’s v cloying, I love an overbearing scent 😂 zero fucks given. It smells really good on my skin and lasts ages when I’ve tried it. Was hoping to unconvinced 🙈🙈🙈

It does last on me, yes, most of the TF fragrances that I've tried do in my case. So hard to tell what it'll do on another person's skin though! Good luck with it!

Re perfume dupes - I have used in the past Eden perfumes (again a Guardian btl recommendation). Vegan and ethical. You put in the perfume you like and they suggest their own version. I got three for my daughter who loved them and myself a Tom Ford. No idea of it's real name but it was leather and chocolate notes - on the Eden website it is 492. No idea tbh if it did smell like the TF but I loved it. £19 I think?

You just reminded me Jasmin 17 is one of the samples I ordered. It's my favourite-smelling flower, but it's so hard to capture in a fragrance. Will give this a try after I wash Santal 33 (boy, does this scent have staying power) off and report back
Re Jasmine I've read lots of good things about Lush's Lust. Again no idea personally.

So personal. The most absolutely disgusting fragrance I've smelled on me Is Guerlain's Mitsouko. Good grief, it is vile. I mean to the point of making me nauseated. Bought a whole bottle though, didn't I?

I've not tried any of theirs, so afraid I can't comment. I have to say that I really rate Chanel, both their perfumes on general release and Les Exclusifs, they are always good quality and have great lasting power.
