Santal 33 gave me an instant headache. I tried it on my lunch break one day then spent the afternoon trying to scrub it off as I'd sprayed very liberally. Great staying power though!

Love Santal Blush. My partner buys it which is really handy for me, too.

Narcissco Rodreiguez. A woman I worked with wore it and I used to stop by her office regularly to bathe in the scent. Got it for myself and can't smell it 5 seconds after I spray. So annoying.

Bloody love Adam Buxton’s podcast - the Chris Morris interviews were really interesting. Also there was one with shoshana Zuboff about the commodification of data from big tech firms - how they use our digital footprints to sell to businesses to sell stuff to us... it wasn’t specifically about influencers but there is a definite link there

Also, this is a *passive* discussion in a (formerly) obscure corner of the internet. SH is the one *actively* seeking it out. No-one here is posting on her twitter or IG, or creeping her personal facebook. We're not recruiting members; she's directing them here herself. It reminds me of that joke about the patient who tells their doctor, "It hurts when I do this." And the doctor replies, "Well, stop doing it then."

Loving the perfume chat and opinions!

I'm only just catching up. Having watched that latest video, the deep cynic in me feels that she's been advised to toe the line by management in view of the latest MOD stuff, and so is on her best behaviour.

Past Sali would have considered it way beneath her, basic and try-hard to demonstrate a face mask. Telling viewers how much she paid for it, okaaay, but could she claim back the cost on expenses.

I don't know anything about perfume (I struggle to decide which I even like let alone suit me). Most commented perfume is L'Occitane Rose and Oud which is probably v non- U and even I know fies not smell of Oud.
Good programme about the novel on BBC 2. Kathy Lette just popped up talking about Wild Sargasso Sea.

I wonder why she has neglected - or so it appears - her website. She doesn't appear to have engaged with the forum for a couple of years and the ITBW videos seem to be the only content she adds.

I know that a number of members left a few years ago after a particular issue wasn't handled well, but it could have built up again, couldn't it? Given that it bears her name I'd have thought she would want to see it thrive.

What inside information does a no mark like Sali Hughes have on a major film director and his daughter? Sali isn't quite getting it that she is not half as important as she thinks. Delusional? A legend in her own mind? A narcissist? Or all three.

I dipped a toe in the Forum for the first time in, well, ever really after she started up FB again. A few people on there who still used it and liked it were very reasonably worried about it's future. Felt abandoned by SH. She posted that the forum was still very important blah blah. Don't know if she ever goes now. Does she ever name it in the podcasts? I saw somewhere it was award winning - possibly in Pretty Honest. Now that baffles me.

The film thing is strange. My feeling is she was dipping a toe in a few things to see which bore most fruit - film, beauty, even fashion (didn't it say somewhere she was a fashion editor of something?). Went with beauty in the end possibly because of the Lauren Luke big break.
