Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

I listened to this and they make good points. It is quite odd that so many people are dismissing the fact that so many of cast/crew and Justin’s podcast co host have turned against him. And blaming Blake’s side instead. That’s not me denying she’s annoying but he must have done something IMO. Also v interesting point about the bots that will push peoples opinions one way or another.
I pointed this out too but what someone here said about how people will simply pick the better side for their future (the most powerful acting couple Hollywoods currently, this will also apply to his podcast co-host since they are friends with Blake too) in low-moral Hollywood seems like a valid point.

What also strikes me odd is that the things her PR has leaked about him seem very harmless. I see this with a open mind, but unlike her Justin has not given me any reason to side eye him so far.

Very true about looking out for themselves. But I do also think he can’t be totally innocent for them to do that.

It’s a much more interesting and salacious story for Blake to be the villain. As it always is when people get fed up with rich attractive women. I don’t think he’s famous enough for people to have soundbites of every time he said something wrong.

@shellie mentioned this interview from yesterday and she's really not helping herself with all the people saying mean girl:

Is she trying to do the Ryan R act but can't quite pull it off so comes across as a witch? Not wise to do this for interviews

Mmm yeah I think you've hit the nail on the head there: she's trying to do the Ryan R thing but her inner witch is peeping out all the time - she has neither the warmth nor the wit to carry it off.
I don't think she's desperately smart either so I don't know that she's even aware that whatever she's doing isn't entertaining?
Not a great look for her anyway.

There is also another interview with Kjersti Flaa when she was promoting A Simple Favor two years after the first interview. She seemed nippy there as well. There were rumours at the time that she and Anna Kendrick weren't getting on and judging by their actions in the video, I can believe it.

Oh I’m so glad this thread exists 😅

I admit that I used to like the both of them, or at least I didn’t find them offensive, but I feel like this whole situation has really opened my eyes. I find it funny that it’s not going the way that they clearly hoped.

Justin Baldoni has dedicated years to speaking out on breaking down barriers on toxic masculinity, embracing feminism, supporting women, etc. I acknowledge most of Hollywood is false, but if his determination to draw attention to these things is genuinely false, then I guess he’s a good actor 😂

I think Blake and Ryan thought as the Hollywood IT couple that the public would automatically jump on board whatever smear campaign they started and cancel the individual. Some of the things they’ve been leaking are so stupid. And then they don’t even have the sense to hide things that make them look terrible, e.g, everything Blake has ever said since the start of this promo tour, including admitting that Ryan likely crossed the picket line in the writers strike (timing unclear on that but it looks likely) and that he rewrote scenes without the screenwriters knowledge, in a project he wasn’t even bleeping employed on. Since when does shagging someone mean you get to take over their workplace?

Anyway, loving that they seem to have bitten off more than they can chew 🙌 I do truly believe that the IEWU cast thought Blake and Ryan were untouchable and sided with them, in the hopes it would serve them well further down the line

Oh Hollywood is so manipulative as is the music industry, lots of blackmail of I'd you don't do X then you'll never work again.

It's why so many very powerful actresses turned a blind eye to Harvery Winstein because he helped them get to where they needed to get, he got them movies they wanted so they allowed his behaviour to continue for years on new and upcoming talent.

I don't doubt there's level of deep trauma to unpack at all and it's very complex but surface level they only spoke up once he was guilty. I just think if Angelina Jolie or whoever wasn't so selfish in wanting to forge their own career they could of stopped this happening to countless women.

I think it's very much the same here, Blake through Ryan and even Taylor is very very very powerful and influential. Me personally I've never heard a nice word about her and I've heard Ryan uses comedy as a way of bein vicious to people but part of my brain wants to love him therfore accept her in turn. But I know she's most likely a toxic person.

I usually feel indifferent to BL, even though she does give off a mean vibe.

RR I always felt is really insincere and a bit piss takey. I have watched all the Wrexham programmes and don’t like how he or the programme comes across. I’m not from Wrexham or Welsh but I think the programme paints the residents of Wrexham as a bit thick, with small insular lives, that need RR and RMc to come in and save them.
I grew up with a football obsessed family, dad and brother and married an equally football obsessed man, so know how it can be so part of your life but I think the programme is really patronising. However if the people of Wrexham are happy that’s all that matters.

I'm so glad she's on the verge of getting cancelled. I've always thought she had a mean girl, I'm better than you streak about her. Her acting credits are garbage, no awards to her name yet considered top of the A list. I think she's had a good team around her for years who have made her this star and its beginning to slide.

I don't get the hype about her looks or fashion. RR is as slimy as he comes

I feel like her and Taylor Swift meet up to laugh about how much money they've made selling their products merch to the hoi polloi.

Blake deleted a load of poorly judged posts on Instagram where she promoted the domestic violence movie by doing lighthearted stuff like making cookies.

The movie was tit snd I never read the book. It’s obviously dealing with serious subject matter but I did laugh at Blake’s outfits (they’re not even that floral, she mostly shleps about in oversized canvas) , the fact that she has zero friends until one is literally placed into her life to help in her dead flower shop, and her lovely teenage boyfriend has basically turned into a broom with eyes when they happen on each other years later and throws his weight and his shoulder chip around like Ryan from the OC.

Its piss poor, and there’s basically zero dialogue at the start of her relationship with the doctor, beyond ‘I want to have sex with you’ and her being like ‘yeah that’s cool let’s do that but not today’

Way before any of this stuff I listened to a podcast called Beyond The Blinds - there was a Ben Affleck episode that mentioned Blake Lively a lot. It's a pretty budget podcast. They just read out blind items and you're left to decide what's true but I didn't realise that 'supposedly' Blake Lively and Ben Affleck had an affair while he was with Jennifer Garner and also there were a lot of items about Ryan Reynolds now being quite controlling and wanting to know what she's up to onset etc. I think there were also some about her doing the same to him.
