Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

I'm absolutely not victim blaming. Having never worked on a movie set I don't know how it works with regards to story boarding scenes and how a director communicates how they want a scene to look like on screen. Given how Blake kept saying how heavily involved she was in the production, I'm just wondering if perhaps he was showing her pictures like this is the kinda look and feel we're going for. Is it still inappropriate? Absolutely. Could he just be a massive perv? Absolutely.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

It pains me to say it but I don’t believe her. Her complaint doesn’t make sense. Why did it take this long? According to her Ryan was on set all the time rewriting a movie he had no involvement in so how did he allow it? Why didn’t she speak up? She’s using this now because she messed up massively with her wear your florals, grab your girls bullshit. She promoted her drink & her hair range with little thought of the message of the film and was so arrogant she didn’t think people would call her on it. It sounds like it was hell working on that project, she is a crap actress anyway. This is a ploy to get the rights to the sequel so she can direct the movie she wants.

I suspect the following is true

- He is a creep and most of what is alleged is actually true (the messages seem to imply that there were multiple HR complaints about him from others)

- Blake is one of his victims

- Blake however doesn't care much about his actions, this is a woman that defended Weinstein after all, the reason why she comes forward is because she needs to save her reputation/wants the filming rights.

This way everything makes completely sense IMO

I think this is on the money (as Welp so often is 🤣) I fully believe he's a creep - I listened to a pod that he guested on a few weeks ago and he was so slimy and insincere he made my flesh crawl: horrible, sinister vibes. Also as some other posters have said, men who are outspoken feminists are often anything but (see Joss Whedon). Glib analogy maybe, but people who don't commit serial murders don't feel the need to go around telling everyone all the time that they are definitely not serial killers, they simply...don't kill people and go about their lives. So I believe most if not all of her allegations.

I think Blake handled the press for the film horribly, but there is solid proof in the subpoena'd text messages that there was an orchestrated campaign to ruin her - it wasn't just her behaviour over the press for the current film that was highlighted, but old interviews were dug up etc, with the express purpose of making a collage of all of her worst moments and beating her to death with them.

The whole affair is very interesting and sobering - how easily the public is manipulated, how often sites like Reddit and this one are astroturfed, and how depressingly easy it is to turn or even manufacture opinion. It makes me feel a bit like an NPC living in a simulation

Something people seem to be missing is that the film's main producer & heavy financial backer is Baldoni's friend and fellow member of the shady Bahai'i religion/group.

Baldoni was never going to be just "removed" from the film.

It was other random men from this group (not professional actors) who were the ones Blake complained about being brought in during her nude scenes.

Her ex Gossip Girl co star Penn Badgley is also a member of this religion and preaches it on his podcast. Which may or many not be relevant.

Blake did not come across well during the film's promo, but alarm bells began to ring for me once I found out how hard Baldoni pushed his image as a feminist/against "toxic masculinity" etc. Men who preach feminism and try to elevate themselves above other men that way is always 🚩🚩 🚩

This this this on that last paragraph. His behaviour is off it just is, the whole apologising for his past ego as part of his proposal just gave me the major major ick.

Actually mad people are like she's just angry cos her rep is bad now...BECAUSE of this campaign. This isn't something she's just made up, there is proof from other complaints at the time not just her. They explained why he asked her weight and everyone bought that and said aww poor guy just trying to do the right thing cos he's injured. I am sure now it was more than that and a great excuse.

LOL. It's been what 4-5 months since the movie rolled out? How quickly do you think discovery, subpoenas, etc take to get the text messages and legal case going? It's not Ally Mcbeal where it happens instantly

Her behaviour during the promo tour was not good (although some of it may be a little more understandable if she had a bad time making the film), but I don't think it would have been reported on so much or posted all over everywhere without Baldoni's PR fanning the flames.

It would probably have been discussed briefly and then mostly forgotten about.

I think the most likely scenario is usually the truth. They are both big cunts, he probably acted inappropriately like many men in Hollywood, she didn't GAF at the time as long as she got her paycheck and her Barbie moment, she didn't, made it worse by behaving like a massive twit, then is going in guns blazing blaming everyone else and using anything she can to stoke the fire.

Ya because god forbid she’d take a case against him before the movie premier. I guess those pretty floral dresses wouldn’t have worn themselves.

But she did GAF at the time because there were complaints at the time?

No. She’s The Princess of Wales.

Either way, her not having respect for the ruling class of a country of which she isn't a citizen, a country which her own country fought a war to NOT have to respect, isn't a crime in my boo

Maybe she should have some respect then that might contribute to people not thinking she’s a big gaping leaking tone deaf a**hole. She’s obviously aware of what she did and posted that fake apology.

No one outside of the UK actually cares about Kate Middleton or whatever silly titles she has, everyone was talking tit about her here, including talk show hosts.

Trust me, I'm in the UK and don't give a tit either BUT when you have the platform she does she can't be mocking someone like that

To be fair she was mocking her for the badly doctored photo, not for being sick, noone knew at that point. She's a twit but she's not stupid enough to mock someone for having cancer, member of the royal family or not. Plus why the duck should she care about the UK royal family? Many of us in the UK don't nevermind someone from America.

No I totally get that but I think she should have been a bit more conscious of what she was putting out there. Don't get me wrong, my social media was full of memes too but I'm not a celebrity with a platform. I guess it's similar to work places social media policies. Especially now a days when you get cancelled for things posted in 2005 etc she should have thought that one through a bit more in my opinion

True, but she mocks anyone she gets a chance too, so I don't think she'll have given it much thought. The pair of them think so highly of themselves they probably don't see Kate's status as anything of importance compared to their own.
