Totally agree, and after that snippet at the end of ITV local news, I won’t spend taking any little ones to Panto now either.
Some may say “don’t give in to terrorism” but seriously, why risk it?
I am still shocked at the causal mention at the end of a local news piece - like it’s not absolutely shocking / horrifying that we can’t take our children to Panto now, without being ultra vigilant.
I won’t be vigilant at a children’s show. I will be keeping them at home.

Why should we have to just accept religiously motivated violence, in any form, in the 21st century?

This isn't normal.

Sadly I feel it is normal now. The successive governments haven’t done anything to curb extremism (apart from putting bollards on the bridges). I mean the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said terror attacks are part and parcel of living in a big city. On Twitter you often find people posting clips of religious leaders and followers saying the most horrendous things about the West, Western culture and Christianity and they live here. What can we do, deport them? It would just be fought in the courts and some bleeding heart will block it. If they are home grown? Well there’s things like prevent but I’m not sure what else.

Unfortunately, a Christmas market being attacked - suggests that religious extremism is likely to be the motivation.

The car was loaded with explosives and driven at speed through a Christmas market - it is a terrorist attack.

I inadvertently saw footage of the impact on X and it’s brutal. I‘d be surprised if there are not more fatalities, based on that.
It’s absolutely horrific and it could happen anywhere.

looks like he was anti-Islam, far right, ex Muslim, atheist, anti-immigration etc … not sure you would describe that he motivated by religion, as he didn’t have a religion … definitely motivated by hate though. We are living in increasingly antagonistic, and polarised times… with loud & powerful people stoking division.
