We've talked briefly on here recently about whether prison sentences are long enough. Someone, sorry I can't remember who, posted articles which suggested that prison sentences, including those for murder, were in fact increasing in length. One thing that I noted was that about 20 years ago, the average tariff for murder was life with a minimum of 13 years, and it is now around 20 years. Now, obviously that's an increase, but the reality is the starting point was insultingly low. I actually had to double-check the figure of 13 years because I couldn't believe how low that was.

It's shocking to me that this man initially served only 18 years for a murder and the manslaughter of his own brother when he set fire to his main victim's body. 18 years for two deaths, albeit the second being manslaughter? I just can't comprehend that. No-one can call that justice for the original victims.

Obviously it's a good thing that he's now been given a WLO, but he wasn't punished enough for the first two deaths that he was responsible for. Murder is one instance where the sentence really shouldn't be focused on deterrence or rehabilitation. The emphasis of the sentence should be punishment. And 18 years for a murder and manslaughter really is inadequate.

On his Twitter he said that he used to follow fatwa’s from religious leaders who said you should harm Christians. I’m wondering if his excuse will be - Europe is becoming Islamised and the natives aren’t doing enough to stop it, therefore it’s the natives fault and they must be harmed? Probably something mad along those lines.

If you look at all the UK prisoners serving WLO a high proportion of them are repeat offenders who had previously served time for murder or manslaughter. Rehabilitating a murderer is too big a risk to take imo. Keep them lockrd up.

He was granted permanent residency in 2016, so no need to lie any more to seek asylum. It does look like he has been posting extremist views on his X account.

There is a compensation scheme for wrongful convictions, but it is apparently very slow. There's been quite a few articles about the difficulties Andrew Malkinson has had in receiving it.

I'm pleased that the Children's Society have told Welby where to stick his bad-conscience money. I'm going to make a donation to them off the back of this, and I hope others will, too.

It's a change to see an organisation with a conscience. Blood money is blood money. It doesn't wash anything clean.

He already had asylum for many years. He was a big fan of Alex Jones and Infowars. It’s a right wing false flag operation to cause even more grief. I’ve even seen them call out the Mail and the right wing think tank RAIR he did an interview with 5 days ago as woke, leftie propaganda 🙄
 
Saw this trending.. she emailed police and live chatted them but she didn't speak German so couldn't phone. 4 people are dead, one of them a child.

Eta just read his Twitter profile heading... Wow.
