Real Life Crime & Murder #27

And they seemed fixated on him being Muslim - granted I think the police and government mucked up by not saying about the Al quaeda manual and the ricin but even after it was all ‘see we told you he was related to terrorism’. All very depressing.
It wasn't an "Al quaeda manual," it was a PDF of a US military assessment of an AQ document.

I mean the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said terror attacks are part and parcel of living in a big city.
Except he didn't. He said being vigilant against the threat of them was, and that everyone should cooperate with an assist the police and security services as much as possible.
---
I am baffled at how Sadiq Khan kept his job after that statement - it is a disgusting thing to say.
Probably because he never said that. Why should someone lose their job because someone else misrepresented what they said?
---
If you look at all the UK prisoners serving WLO a high proportion of them are repeat offenders who had previously served time for murder or manslaughter. Rehabilitating a murderer is too big a risk to take imo. Keep them lockrd up.
Only 3.6% of previously-convicted murderers commit the crime again.

This must be such a comfort to the families of their victims. (The victims themselves, of course, can't say whether they feel comforted by this statistic or not.)

Yes he did:
‘Part and parcel of living in a great global city is you've got to be prepared for these things, you've got to be vigilant, you've got to support the police doing an incredibly hard job. We must never accept terrorists being successful, we must never accept that terrorists can destroy our life or destroy the way we lead our lives.’

Part and parcel of living in a great global city is you've got to be prepared for these things - these things being terror attacks.

3.6% is the opposite of a "too big a risk." Keeping prisoners - 96.4% of whom will never reoffend - locked up isn't reasonable.

No, you said: " I mean the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said terror attacks are part and parcel of living in a big city."

He didn't say terror attacks were part and parcel of living in a big city, he said being prepared to deal with them and being vigilant was. You said terrorist attacks specifically, and nothing about preparation or vigilance. You're just pushing the same BS distortion that Trump and his spawn did. What Khan said was hardly anything new, but I'll assume that you're too young to remember the IRA bombing London whenever it could, and the posters everywhere reminding people to keep an eye out for suspicious items, i.e. bombs.

Sleeping woman has dies after being set on fire on subway train in NYC.

The video shows the perpetrator just sitting, calming watching her. Other people are around and don’t seem to be doing anything. Worst of all there is a police officer who casually walks by her whilst she’s literally on fire. In other cases of this nature law enforcement have tried to smother the flames, some taking off their own coats etc.

Apparently, 3 high school kids from NY called in the location of the suspect. The suspect was arrested on another train...but had stood and watched the lady on fire. How sadistic is that to set fire to a sleeping person?!

How sad a vulnerable woman attacked and there are people just doing nothing!

I'm guessing the blanket that was set alight must have been quite flammable🙁
Glad the suspect has been caught quickly and he did not injure or kill anybody else! I

It's reported the lady who died was homeless and sleeping on the train.
Poor woman. What a dreadful end to what seems to have been a very sad life.

Anybody sleeping on the streets is very vulnerable - women especially so. She was probably desperate for warmth, and though she could safely sleep on the subway without being assaulted, raped, pee'd on - sadly she was horribly wrong.
