Yeah either a lot was edited out, or it was staged. It didn't make sense. Why were her and her mum suddenly so far apart, that's not happened all series so far. Why would you get on a train without your companion? Why was the mum so upset and she wasn't?

Very odd and jarring compared to rest of the series
Didn’t Mel go and look for food? Maybe I heard wrong because she didn’t seem to have any food when they met up

Glad Billy and Bonnie won a leg! I'm not too fussed who wins now as they all have grown on me, but still want them to win! They've picked great jobs and spent time in places they've wanted to go to as well, while now having the most budget left I think.

The situation with Mel and her mum was really odd, I didn't think it was staged of then getting seperated but I definitely thought that production had to step in to reunite them as they didn't even reunite on the platform!

Then her mum said that she has to move from where she was from and I didn't really understand how it happened, especially as they have a production person and a camera person with them too.

Also I don't remember Mel having such a strong accent back in the day, maybe it's stronger when she's with her mum.

Her mum moved though didn’t she? to go look for her and didn’t Mel say she went to their meeting point and she wasn’t there

Someone conveniently told her Mum to move to the other side.

I do think her mum’s confusion was genuine (and I don’t think she was in on it having watched again) but the whole situation just seemed so patently obviously set up. Splitting up to get food, someone telling her mum to move to the other side for no reason, Mel boarding the train despite not knowing if her mum was on it when obviously her mum would have at least waited on the platform. It’s not logical at all, which honestly explains her mum’s befuddlement to me. Then Mel’s calmness and the fairly meh reunion, nah, they must think we’re stupid if they think it’s not obvious they staged it.

Still rooting for Billy and Bonnie, they really have got so much out of the race and had fun along the way while taking the race seriously.

I won’t be too upset for Alex as his dad is such a lovely man and Alex has mellowed as the race has gone on.

Can’t see Mel winning, no money in the budget to race, I really don’t want Harry and moaning Myrtle to win, but I have a horrid feeling his competitive streak will pull him through

Another one for Billy and Bonnie and Alex Beresford hasn't grown on me at all, like his Dad but I feel he is far too entitled. I was hoping Harry and his mother would win it but like others have said she does lots of moaning and I felt sorry for her at times due to her age but goodness me she is far younger than I thought. Mel and her mother I have no interest in.

I love Berlin but it is a busy city. The people are lovely and wonderful. Normally go once a year but this year we are going to Hamburg instead for the Xmas Markets. Hope it's just as good!
Hamburg is fab. Haven't been to Berlin at Christmas so can't compare the markets but Hamburg is such a lovely city and very doable in the sense that it's much more compact. I love that it has so much water - the Elbe, the canals, the Alster. Also, Santa flies over the main Rathaus Christmas market!

I hope Billy and Bonnie win too, Alex hasn't done enough for me to change my initial opinion though I like his dad. I did like Harry and Emma but she moans a lot and he doesn't really take her feelings and ability into consideration and is coming across quite moody. Not a fan of Mel but like Helene. Billy and Bonnie are the only winners in my eyes as they're the only ones to enter into the true spirit of the show. Haven't flashed the cash, made daft mistakes, have stopped and enjoyed and done interesting jobs more so than the others. Plus Billy is inspirational to do it all with his disability, it is a very physical challenge.

Love Billy and Bonnie. I would be so proud of them if they were my kids. Alex is, as other said quite spoilt and I don't think much of that has been knocked out of him by this experience, but his dad is lovely. Mel grates on me and I agree that incident at the station was rather odd and looked staged. Harry is also annoying for similar reasons. I like Harry's mum, I might be in a minority there!

No I like Harry's mum too, really don't get the hate. I like Harry as well, but he needs to understand his mum is older and less fit. She's also quite petite so can't run like he can

I like Harry and his mum too. The fact she’s even doing this is amazing to me as my parents a similar age just don’t go anywhere apart from the garden centre. She does look older than her age but I am cautious about that being a criticism against her. I’d rather see women age naturally than pumped full of filler and botox.

I just don’t like Harry when he gets into race mode!! I like it when he’s relaxed a bit and his mum is right about giving themselves extra time instead of running for the buses.

I’m not too fussed on who wins. I actually like that the winner is quite simply the first across the finish line and not a public popularity contest like so many other tv shows. And I think apart from Mel and her mum it could be any of the other pairs.

Does anyone know what the prize is for this series as usually celeb prizes are for charity but I don’t recall them mentioning a prize at all. Maybe there isn’t one.

Finally caught up on the episodes just in time for the final!

Billy and Bonnie are my favourites to win - they have a lovely relationship and seem really supportive of each other. I’m sure their parents are extremely proud of them both.
Alex and Noel I’d say would be my second - Alex irritated me at the start but I warmed to him after they walked in together with Billy and Bonnie. His dad is lovely and it definitely looks like Alex has mellowed a bit by spending time with him.
Harry and Emma - meh. Sometimes I don’t mind Harry, then when he’s dragging his mum everywhere trying to be quick and forcing her to sleep on buses overnight quite often I find it a bit selfish. My mum is younger and I wouldn’t expect her to do that.
Mel and Helene - I like Helene but really don’t care for Mel at all. Seems like she’s just never grown up or taken responsibility for herself. I think she quite likes being in this little bubble and being a ‘princess’. Her mum has clearly done nearly everything for her for most of her life and she doesn’t seem to appreciate it.

That’s my 2 pence at least! Was curious about the prize as well as I don’t think I’ve heard it mentioned either.
