Looking at Wiki, he went to private prep schools, but was he definitely a boarder? If his family lived in Clare thats in Suffolk close enough for him to be a day pupil!
Says boarding school here. This wasn’t where I saw it before, just random search
And from Daily Express
Not a lot of people know this but I’m very good at… table tennis. I went to boarding school so I played a lot at school in the evenings and my geography teacher noticed that my friend and I were getting pretty good. We ended up winning the regional championship and then we went to the nationals. It’s my dream one day to have a house with a room dedicated to table tennis.

I think that was a good leg, no one really complained compared to other legs and they all seemed to have a good time doing an activity/job.
I think maybe Alex and his dad will win since they seem in the best physical condition which will allow them to be quicker in the final leg. But Billy and Bonny imo have a huge advantage even though only 6hours ahead, which isn’t a lot considering teams make up a days worth of time. But them being able to leave at 3pm will give them more options of transport whereas the other teams leaving 9pm-12am may have to spend the night before leaving?
I think they’ll all struggle with money in Norway, not sure what routes there are though. B&B went from the lowest budget to the highest

I have loved this one too, I love how easy it is to travel around europe, i knew the train system was good but looks like long distance buses are available too, not something I have looked into before. Much better than the Canada trip, although seeing Canada was amazing, the options where very limited - ie all on the same train/bus/ferry etc. The last leg will be interesting, I was in Norway over the summer and I popped into a shop for a drink and snack- £11 it costs! Would be £3-4 here, so a very expensive country.

I have forgot where the end point is? Is it Tromso? Wonder if they will travel up Sweden or Norway? I would defo be looking at the train up there if it was me!

I've no idea but as non EU member is it easy to travel from country to country these days?
Or once you're on mainland Europe is it just fine?
Yes good episode last night. Really anyone could win which is good.

In this trip, there would have been a border check at Morrocco/Spain but that would have been it until Croatia / Bosnia. It is very easy to travel in the Schengen zone as it was in place to 'remove' borders. This is on the assumption they all have UK/EU passports even American and Canadian passports too. I think it is more difficult if you have a passport that requires a Schengen visa. I think the next border check will be Norway. HOWEVER, I am no expert and everybody should check the requirements for each country before they visit!

What happened with Mel getting on the train without her mum? I don’t believe Mel would have thought to get off at the next stop when she believed her mum was somewhere on the train. Or stayed so chilled about it. I think production crew called her which is why she was so calm! Possibly fair as they have no other means of contacting each other.

I would’ve assumed she’d have walked through the carriages and not found her so got off? Mel was calm but her mum seemed genuinely worried when they found eachother

I’ve got to be honest I thought that was staged, I can possibly believe her mum was in the dark about it but Mel 100% knew exactly what was happening.

I thought their reunion felt really odd, especially with how stressed Mel claims to get about life in general!

I really liked the look of Prague and Budapest but Berlin looked a bit peopley for me 😅 Kinda don't want the series to end, loving the scenery and experiences they're all having.

Budapest and Sarajevo really stood out to me! The baths in Budapest looked amazing.

Budapest is amazing....just realised its 20 years since I last went....might have to book for next year!

Forgot about the train thing with Mel. Why would she get on the train without her mum anyway? Why didn't they show her trying to look for her in the station etc? Seem weird to just cut to Helene thinking she has caught the train without her! Very odd.

I love Berlin but it is a busy city. The people are lovely and wonderful. Normally go once a year but this year we are going to Hamburg instead for the Xmas Markets. Hope it's just as good!

Yeah either a lot was edited out, or it was staged. It didn't make sense. Why were her and her mum suddenly so far apart, that's not happened all series so far. Why would you get on a train without your companion? Why was the mum so upset and she wasn't?

Very odd and jarring compared to rest of the series
