@IOrderedASandwich There are definitely some women on there who are trapped in a cycle and buying things they can’t afford. I find it really sad that that there are posts selling dresses to pay for car or vet bills etc. I do think Popsy should have some sort of social responsibility, especially the re-post of the weekly live that always asks “what are you going for this week?”
They don’t need to use this hype anymore, or release as many new dresses as they have a good code customer base.
I have a decentish job and my bank balance is fine but wouldn’t dream of spending £40+ a week on a dress. Even if I was absolutely loaded I wouldn’t buy a new dress every week!
Popsy aren’t the only brand that do it and I do love how it has enabled some people, including transgender people, to feel good about themselves but if people are buying what they cannot afford, that feel good feeling is not going to last.
