It must have occurred to them that having a newborn sleeping in the same room as the 3yo is a recipe for disaster. Did they really think she’d sleep through the crying, feeds, moving around, lights on and nappy changes?
when i had mine (a good while) midwives do a post birth visit a day or 2 after discharge and then another a week or so after. usually a visit from health vis at 2/3 months (i think)I haven’t got kids yet so asking on here as I don’t know... will a midwife/health visitor pick up on this when they come round and say something to pea?
I guess I'm just looking at it that a three year old should be easier to settle than a newborn so she was getting the easier job. Who knows with her though hahaYou’re right, she said that ember was unsettled and that woke Raven up, Dean took Ember into another room so Raven could be settled back to sleep and Dean bought Ember back a few hours later!
Pea put in her stories that the baby woke Raven, ember was removed from the shared sleep space so Raven could be settled, not so Pea could get sleep! That isn’t normal to me, I agree their sleep set up is just weird, Dean as of a few weeks ago is now sleeping in another room after being together for 3.5 because his alarms and snoring are suddenly issues after all this time.
She said that Ember woke Raven so she got Dean to take Ember so she could settle Raven back down and that Dean would bring Ember back when she needed feeding. Why didn’t Dean say ‘go to bed with the baby!’ I mean come on Nicola, prioritise yourself for once. Raven is fine she’s with her Dad. Go nap, or just snuggle the baby FFS
She definitely does. She posted beforeDo you think pea reads here?
also I really do wonder what dean thinks about all this. And their parents.

I feel bad for her, on that clip this morning on her and Ember in the rocking chair I could totally see the "what have I done" moment in her eyes... Except i can only imagine the reality check of attempting to cosleep with a newborn and a 3.5 year old would be a lot worse.. They won't have the energy to attempt any kind of sleeping arrangement that would suit them better now because 1 they're too tired and 2 raven would most likely feel pushed out..
