My Frugal year / Clare Seal

Does she have a professional outside of insta? 30k doesn't seem a lot. It's a regular salary in my profession. 60k isn't that amazing these days either.

I’m just going off her story with the above - those salaries were in her debt repayment years so would have been back in 2019/20 odd? I’d assume her income has increased since then as she’s big on affiliate marketing now, whereas before she was “only” writing?

Quick check on CHB and the first partial year’s accounts have been filed. Nothing major but not really surprising as all she does is whinge about money? I’d be more shocked if they were fab the way she goes on? 🤷‍♀️

I hope I’m looking at the wrong CHB, a loan for £11,000 is listed on there. Surely there’s no need with all her assets and her amazing money management now?

The directors loan is essentially how Clare has paid herself in part. It’s a tax efficient way to get money out of a limited company. It’s not a debt in the way you’d expect.

Thanks for clearing this up, I wondered if this is why she needed to suddenly save £10,000 within a short space of time. Didn’t know if she had to pay this back or something. I assume it means she doesn’t pay tax on it so gets the full benefit of the money?

Ah okay. I could not be arsed to have to post my family and have tattle threads about me for 30k

Clare is moaning again 🙄

There are professional film and TV critics who will slam a show/movie in the national press, if being a content creator is exactly the same then you need to expect that people won’t agree with all of your content.

Am I the only one seeing this and the ensuing defensive drama and thinking what an idiot she sounds like.

How did one of the most expensive bolognese sauces on the market even become your child’s safe food. She’s acting like her kid/s preferring expensive branded food was thrust upon her but she has obviously given them these foods to begin with.

Also I don’t know her child’s history in terms of diagnosis and medical advice, I feel she’s being deliberately vague and cagey about this tbh, so who knows if he even has one or if she is using it as a shield, but we were told with mine by our doctor to not only feed safe foods, and if sometimes he doesn’t eat much at a meal not to stress as long as weight gain is ok etc. Of course with Clare there’s always no way out of anything other than to spend loads of money so she doesn’t address any of that. Just makes it all about how difficult and impossible it all is for her of course.

Yeah, she's looking for a direction for her account I guess. She currently doesn't have one and latching onto being ND might get her some extra follows? She hasn't been particularly insightful about ADHD so far though, so I won't hold my breath.

And exactly - your child doesn't get their safe food out of nowhere. Let's face it, even when she's been claiming poverty every single item in her pantry has been branded. It's just nonsense that this is driven by her ND children/child.

bleeping hell not this ‘ADHD tax’ again. She labels everything she resents forking out for it or missing out on as a tax, it’s bizarre. I remember at one point she claimed that living outside of central London was a “remote living tax” because she couldn’t get to as many influencer events 🎻

It’s a very influencer (I can see why she loves Alexandra Stedman so much as she’s queen of this mentality!) school of thougut that money exists purely to spend it on discretionary spend items - so clothes, decor, etc. They all end up so mean, whiny, and cheap trying to maximise their consumption. When actually in life you try to stream line fixed costs as much as possible, but don’t spend eternity whinging about the cost of pasta sauce because you want to prioritise an Instagramable life above your own sanity?!

THIS. You're always so eloquent about this stuff, maybe you should become an influencer, lol.

Also, yeah. My kids aren't ND that I know of and yet there's food wastage and certain foods they want and all that crap. My kid will only eat the cheapest ASDA korma sauce thanks to me being a cheapskate and buying it in the first place! My partner has ADHD but doesn't cost any extra money because of it, except when he forgets to pay the parking licence and we get a ticket. But foodwise - no 😄
