My Frugal year / Clare Seal

1

None of the above is anything to do with having ADHD. Does she link every single stupid thing that she does to ADHD? I have no doubt that having ADHD makes life four zillion times harder (I have OCD which makes my life four zillion times harder so kind of get it). But sometimes I do stupid tit because that’s life. I don’t bloody call it the ocd tax. I just think ffs and then try not to do it again.

This is scraping the bottom of the barrel for content, even for her. God almighty. None of those experiences are specific to ADHD, and even if they were, it's not a inherent trait of ADHD to throw money at an issue to fix it. Being grumpy with your kids and feeling bad afterwards is such a basic bloody experience of parenting. 99% of people - even the ones with ADHD! - just say "sorry I was grumpy" and move on, they don't book Eurodisney.

No one. Not even adhd people send flowers for forgetting to text. You just send the text with an apology. If your friendship is one that only requires a text for their bday (no gift, drinks, cards etc) then why are you sending flowers?! Just Clare loves to spend.

I’ve had a scroll through those the I paper comments as there’s not many and most just say “money” and I cannot see which “weird comments” she’s referring to. Closest I can see is someone quite innocently saying they had a similar thing happen but made a better decision.

she’s just obsessed with being a victim and spends way too long with that nose in the comments section of everything.

Didn’t get round to posting on here but that “oh great it’s that time of year when I feel like an alien for not having Spotify” comment did make me 🙄 victim victim victim. Yes it is a bit weird you don’t have it, but whatever you’re just not into it, people can share their yearly round ups without it having to be about you and how it makes you feel. If you don’t like it either join in next year or ignore it 🤷‍♀️ not this consistent “I’m being “othered” by everyone and it’s a “tax”” mentality all the bloody time

The woes of the frugal influencers 🎻🎻🎻

Not only does she has a victim mentality with all these hidden “taxes”, she is also incredibly Ableist. This idea that ADHD means you can’t try, or have excuses for all the stereotypical behaviour. If you MANAGE your ADHD (like I and many others do), life becomes manageable. Yes, it’s not perfect but mostly, I get on fine. Just because a child has Neurodivergence does not mean you stop trying, it doesn’t mean you resign them to the same pasta sauce for life, you introduce led exploration. All of this would be obvious with basic research instead of using it as an excuse to be lazy, or justify your own failures.

She is incredibly jealous of the lives and successes of others and has that weird mentality about Life Only Being In London which is just pathetic. She is the sort of Lazy Bastard who will moan she hasn’t been promoted due to having a kid, or didn’t finish her work because “ADHD” rather than look any deeper. I met a few of her sort working in London and they were just exhausting. Like, I’m sorry I live in London and don’t have kids?! That sort of feeling.

If she is to be a Finance Coach, she needs to get qualified. I don’t understand why anyone would want to work with someone who will teach you to have just enough income to get a HelloFresh. I also think it’s bleeping disgraceful to take money off someone who is obviously looking for help in that area without qualifications and a life reflecting what most people are looking for, which is not her.

Her general content is poor - very basic, nothing profound, lack of professional presentation, etc. I’m surprised to see her still going and agree with the general comments about just getting a proper job and side hustling this stuff. She must have a partner to support her is all I can think.

🎯 she puts far too much about herself out there to ever have any credibility as a coach/advisor. Why would anyone want advice from someone who is worse off than them? And if you’re just starting out on your personal finance journey, why would you want advice from someone who prioritises love every (and other middle class baby brands that have very little meaning in mat leave, and absolutely zero a few months after!) over their emergency fund?! That’s the bare minimum 😭

For actual grown ups thinking about their personal finance it’s far more complicated than Ocado versus Sainsbury’s or 3 washworn onesies off Vinted, or how much you’ve made up your new build is worth today, it’s about tax/cgt, pensions, investments, and budgeting ofc is part of that but it’s not meant to be that you’re white knuckling through parenthood trying to keep up with the Jones/Insta. The content is made for juveniles tbh.

There is nothing she loves more than putting H above her other children. I feel so sorry for the boys, they’ve never had the same narrative. There is clear favouritism and they will know it. Also, is she wanting another freebie with the “I’ve never ordered from here before” small business?

I really feel sorry for those boys 😞💔

Well don't bleeping work with those brands then St Clare? head 🙄

Also the stories today about the toys for darling little H and how she doesn't care if they're pricey. Very frugal Clare(!)
Those Loveevery toys are such a waste of money for that age group I’m sorry. Just making parents think they have to pay for Montessori specific toys when that isn’t even what Montessori is about. Just use what you have.

It’s such a scammy un frugal thing to promote, yeah I’m sure her daughter plays with the toys, but if she had just 3 cheap bits from Ikea and some pots and pans from the kitchen and wooden spoon she’d play with that as well. Paying nearly £100 for boxes full of wooden tat every month or 2 is madness. They don’t even know about brands and things at that age and the toys aren’t even superior. She is so silly when it comes to picking brands to work with it drives me insane
