They are currently going all armchair detective over those four young lads missing in Snowdonia, posting complete untruths mostly. It reminds me of the Nicola Bulley threads there. I live in North Wales and people go missing in Snowdonia often, sometimes they turn up alive sometimes they don’t. The weather can change in a heartbeat especially at this time of year and the most obvious explanation is that they’re inexperienced and have misjudged their surroundings.

TBH I was on the Nicola Bulley threads on HERE and even some of that was pretty unhinged, so god knows what it was like over there.

We might be neighbours! The mountain rescue, air ambulance and coastguard helicopters have just gone over my house. I hope they are found safe and well and in a camping barn somewhere. However, the sheer glee of some of the posters on Mumsnet is disturbing - they do love a real life tragedy unfolding and it's really distasteful.

Awful isn’t it? A few of them were saying they were probably lying we in a crashed car dead, and then when the car was found they’d obviously been abducted.

I think they'll be found safe and well, they might have no idea their disappearance has sparked a major search. They know the area, it's not like they are city boys on a jolly. However, it will be massively disappointing to Mumsnetters if that is the case. You can sense they are itching to light candles and hold their babies tighter.

Fingers crossed they are all okay.
 
Ugh I've just read the last page of one of the threads and gone off it again as it's awful. They are all trying to one up each other with their theories and speculation, it's just so unnecessary

I was in a car crash last year that wasn't my fault, and involved 4 roads around the area being closed. Before I'd even been freed from the car there were posts all over Facebook about it. People speculating that I'd been speeding (I hadn't but the other driver had) people speculating that I was dead because there were so many emergency vehicles (obviously I wasn't but it was a complex rescue due to the nature of it). People were taking photos out of their windows, posting about how many sirens they heard and where they were going, all giving their idea of what they thought must have happened. A reporter for the town news website (basically a busy body that nobody likes) even drove out to the police corden to try and take photos of the scene to write an article about it. He was swiftly told where to go by the police

I'm waffling a bit haha but it was horrible having to see all that the next day. I was still trying to come to terms with it myself and trying to figure out what had happened, and having to see it all over Facebook was not a nice feeling at all. Especially seeing people blame me when there was nothing I could have done to avoid it. It also meant that I had to start contacting wider family and my boss to explain what had happened because some of them had heard about it by seeing posts online and recognised my car, rather than me getting the chance to digest it and then tell them when I was ready. And the only reason I assume they were doing that was for attention, because they wanted to be the ones in the know and be the ones telling people about something big that had happened without stopping for a minute to think that this is a real person and a real family involved
 
They are just like vultures, gathering, hoping to be the first to post a tragic update.

This post is distasteful. Ms Boma and her handyman should STFU until the facts are in the public domain.

Manasa Boma is the manager at The Royal Goat Hotel in Beddgelert, a short distance from the scene of the police have blocked the road.
She told our reporter: "We’re closed for the winter but our handyman messaged me to say there had been a terrible accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who’s involved".
