Any thoughts on the Friday 11/26 Coast to Coast vlog?
I listened to it rather than watched. There was something off. Alan's voice was tired, the whole thing seemed to be missing that fun rhythm in the first half. Second part with them in CA went much better. Maybe the issue was in the editing, perhaps it was that sound problem, or it could have been them being in anxious mode prior to travel.

I then watched it figuring that maybe a good part of what I was missing was in video, nope. Alan was not into the party at all. He forced it.

I thought the Florida portion was pretty repetitive from the coverage they already did of the party and had hoped this video would focus on Disneyland. The “challenge” titling was a bit of click bait cringe. It was fun to see the three of them together doing their thing though and once they got to Disneyland, I enjoyed it.

I find Alan to be a bit hit or miss on the videos, but he seems to be such a nice/smart guy that I usually can overlook it. It seems like he’s just getting more comfortable co-hosting the videos, but he does get marble mouthed sometimes.

You're right. Alan is working a full time job, and I suppose he's commuting at least for part of that time adding to his level of exhaustion. Not sure which MVMCP they went to, odds are they did this on a work day.

He tries, and does a better job than I could after a long day or week.

I get that, but at the same time, looking like you're dragging when the people watching are literally paying you to do this doesn't look good. If you're dragging that much, don't appear or record after some sleep.

Joined here for the CruiseVloggers thread, but saw this thread, and I know on this thread there's a lot of Molly fans on here. Clearly, she has a fan base, and that's great.

We used to like Molly, but as the AllEars vlogs progressed, she stuffed food in her mouth and then talked with a a bunch of food still in her mouth. No need for that.

Then, a couple of years back, we saw her on a short Disney Dream cruise, with a group of vloggers, though it seemed non-Disney organized.

•Saw her in Evolution, went up and said the we liked her videos. She looked at us like we ran over her dog, said nothing and left.

•On Castaway Cay, she and a number of these other vloggers were all at the start of the 5k. I passed most of the vlogger folk early on, finished and waited for my wife (who isn't terribly quick at those types of things). Never saw Molly or most of these folks finish and I was chatting with the Cast Members at the finish until they packed up everything and left. Yet, saw her going back to the ship with the 5k medal, so she clearly just walked up before I'd even finished and got one.

•Back on the ship, saw her get I think it was a cupcake or an ice cream cone (don't remember which). Took a photo of it, then tossed it.

That pretty much turned us off of Molly and All Ears.

A VERY similar experience meeting Molly a couple days ago. Kind of unbelievable how different someone can be on vs. off camera. Guess you never know! Your example of her looking at you like you ran over her dog is the exact reaction I got as well.

Molly reminds followers frequently that Alan and Max have full time jobs. I felt like Max relied upon that excuse himself when he made the error in the Swift/Shakespeare quiz. The guy was so tired he couldn’t copy and paste it from Buzzfeed properly.

Granted, I would be tired too if I was working a full time job and running a media company. However, that’s what they signed up for. Molly could have done it alone or hired someone who would make it their full time job to help her.

As a counterpoint I’d like to offer up Real Mouse Vibes. Ashley works full time in the music industry, but their videos are always high energy and they do a two hour live almost every Monday. She once joined a little late due to a work call, but didn’t skip a beat!

It really makes me wonder if Mammoth Club’s hearts are in it. I’m curious if anyone else has encountered them in the parks and if they are ever in the parks when not filming (just like enjoying it?). I thought it was strange how many times they addressed if it was okay to approach them in the parks in their AMAs. It did feel rather defensive. Like, yeah you can talk to us but don’t be offended if we’re rude cause we’re working. They also don’t ever show them interacting with their fans in their videos like other vloggers do.

Just the other day, wow. I'm always amazed at the temerity of the YouTubers who think they're suddenly as widely known as like Taylor Swift or that they can't be bothered by people who are paying them.

Years ago, I had the good fortune to work a show with Broadway performer Susan Egan. She was always gracious to fans.

I'm shocked they haven't used the term dujour "Side Hustle" for Alan and Max. Remember when that was just called a second job?

I also wish the "challenge" had been dropped and it became more of a comparison video. Many viewers are now planning their holiday trips for 2023 and need to choose which coast they'd like to hit up... Disney World is often chosen as it's the largest with most options, but it's not the most intimate nor does it offer many of the perks one can get from the original.

What I'd like to see is:
  • Here is WDW's christmas parade / DL's parade... which is FREE
  • Here's WDW's special treats (show the small selection piled on a table with room to spare) For a Party UPCHARGE you also get (Show that)... Let's compare it to DL's (show Two tables mashed together).
  • Here's WDW's special holiday characters who are available for meeting during the day... crickets
and here's DL's... show them all in a 15 second music montage.

I'd love to run into her, see if I get the same reaction. She did warn folks that she has RBF.

To me that only applies if I wasn't within feet of her, call her name and she looked right at me. Just spotting her off in the distance I don't think counts, though I think you should be cognizant of being in public if you want to be a public figure.

Is it RBF or not wanting to be bothered unless there’s a camera in her face or her own accord. She has always come across as pretentious to me.

As a teenager I was told that I acted unapproachable, as though I were stuck up and felt like I was better than everyone else.
My reality was the complete opposite.
You can't go by looks alone.

Don't know until I have the opportunity to say hi, IF I ever have that opportunity.

Being a teen is different than being an adult running a business where you're interacting with people and are the literal face of the business.
There are plenty of interactions related to business I don't care to have, but I don't show that to my clients.

I will say after reading so many reports of others experiencing the same, I wouldn't take a "good" or "bad" reaction from her personally. In my opinion, RBF applies to someone's facial expression when they aren't actively conversing with someone. In my case, we were actively engaged in a conversation, and

I agree with this. RBF, to me, is more of when someone isn't actively engaged in conversation. I was within a foot of her, we were engaged in a conversation. Prior to engaging in this conversation, I observed that she was not working, also not with any other individuals. I calmly said her name and she confirmed she was indeed Molly :) It truly pained her to take any compliments and as far as I can remember, a lot of the responses to the compliments and statements were "ok..". I do think she said "of course" when I thanked her for the videos. I didn't ask for a selfie or take up too much of her time, as half of my feelings were hurt (that's my own fault for putting anyone on a pedestal in the first place), and I could read the room. Total interaction time was less than 30 seconds.

Are you a paying Patron of Mammoth Club?

Does anyone know what AJ looks like? I've heard she'll be in WDW soon, I'd like to keep my eye out for her.
I think this is her? She sounds older.

I once did a search for AJ and man, she must've removed any photo of herself from the internet. The only thing I've ever seen is a small profile photo I think it was on LinkedIn.

Edit: This was after AllEars got all clickbaity and I realized Deb Wills no longer owned it.

Funny enough that looks about exactly what I would figure she might look like.

Funny anecdote. Especially during the pandemic, my wife and I would watch DFB and All Ears, and no joke, AJ had a video one time that could have won an Oscar, the way it moved us to honest, genuine, sobbing tears. It came after the first wave of in the park job cuts and it was a truly emotional and fitting send up of all the cast members. Say what you will about this lady, but she has a skill.
