I'm starting to see a lot of posts pushing their merch...who the hell wears blogger branded clothes?

Merch is logical every big YouTuber goes the merch route at some point. I don't think I've ever seen any vlogger merch being worn in real life but I imagine some vloggers make quite a lot of money on it given the prices I've seen.

It seems like he was there for financial support in case it was slow to be profitable. It sounds like they all brainstorm content together, but I’d have to guess that Molly is the main one driving what they post on YouTube. Max seems to lean really hard into the “villain/troll” role which gets grating after a while and having a contrary opinion just to have one … esp when that doesn’t seem to be authentic to who he is.

That to me sounds like it might be OK sitting around at home chatting, but for some kind of production it lands flat.

So, people buy this stuff and then never use it? What's the point of that?

My main point on Quincy was they've (or she's doing it willingly) been pushing her sex appeal lately when they never used to do that sort of thing.
I’m curious how Quincy is pushing sex appeal. I watched a few recent vlogs and she doesn’t seem to have changed.

This is so off-topic but I’m so interested to know who Lily Aldridge is and how she knows Molly haha. I’ve not heard of her before but famous on Instagram by the looks of it!

Also very curious to know (although completely none of my business) how they split the money. I assume they’re all equal co-owners but you wouldn’t even know Max is involved if you only watched the videos and not the streams/podcast. I don’t know how many people watch the streams live but they only get a couple of thousand views posted on YouTube, so I assume not really that many? I imagine that’s caused a bit of friction. Max is either hugely overpaid, or he’s seeing all that Patreon cash go to M&A’s bank. 👀
Lily Aldridge is a model. She modeled for Victoria Secret, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, and lots of other things. I am not sure how they met though. I know Lily is a huge fan of Len Testa's podcast. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lily_Aldridge

They emphasized in the California videos that the best of what they do is when they’re together, but Max is only in a handful of their total videos.

As a consumer I’m going to have to disagree with them. My YouTube watching hasn’t been much lately anyway, but I won’t watch a video with Max because I find him so unlikable. The last time I tried - it was an AK video maybe? - it was like an annoying home movie. If that’s your thing cool, but not what I like out of a “Molly video.”

And that isn’t even to say videos like that can’t be enjoyable. Maybe my favorite AE video of all time is when she took Breedlove around UO introducing him to Harry Potter.

As for merch, I don’t get it either. Even when I like following someone, I have never wanted something with their logo on it.

As for Max, is he more of a producer? Maybe he’s doing more behind the scenes. I feel like going into business with close friends can be so problematic, especially when money is involved- I wouldn’t do it!

To answer your first, Lily Aldridge is a model (I recognize her most for being an Angel for quite a while and being heavily involved in many VS Fashion Shows). I believe they met when Lily had a speciality drink in one of the countries? Press event Molly attended with AllEars, though could be remembering incorrectly.

I would also be curious about it. I still find it odd they won't do a specific Mammoth twitch as it would make the most sense, but I am sure there's stuff and agreements behind the scenes they will never share as to why this is. I stopped watching the streams a while back because they were just redundant and those in charge of the chat made it unenjoyable. Some of their "helpers" are a bit too enthusiastic and annoying.

When Molly had that specialty drink, she kept saying it was by her friend LA, so they must've known each other before that.

I think she met Lily when Lily did promo for a set of ears she "designed" for Disney. Lily went to the parks with Prince Charming Dev and I think she also met with Molly/All Ears on that same trip.

Why does Disney think that people care about a signature drink “created” by a model? Nothing against her at all, but… does it make me want to go buy it? No.

Maybe a signature drink crafted by a world renowned mixologist. That actually might hold some kind of appeal.

Either La Cava or La Hacienda has a margarita "created" by Neil Patrick Harris.

I'm really enjoying Max at the Universal Super Mario World park in Japan. It's so fun to see something you rarely see the usual Disney/Universal vloggers do since they usually stay in the States. My mouth fell open when he first walked in, it looks just like the games. Wow.
I wonder about the timing given it’s been so long since Max was there. My impression was that he would never do a solo video. When he announced the Japan trip on twitch he didn’t give any indication that he was going to do videos while there, so I was surprised to see this! Why did they wait so long to release it though? Was Max just really slow in getting his footage organized? Apparently they have another California video coming too, but why did they wait so long after their trip to release it? It seems they have relinquished any effort to follow any particular timeline; it’s a bit higgledy-piggledy is what I guess I’m trying to say.

They're increasingly heavily invested in pop culture references inserted into their videos. A rare appearance of a pop quote is fine, but they seem to be shaken into every video now like seasoning on a dinner plate.

Molly should be aware that not everyone will have the same "fun" feeling associated with all of these quotes and they can harm the overall feeling toward the videos if the association viewers have is negative. There's also the viewing group who are too young to know what most of these references are. The less they use the less risk they'll run into.

I thought MC was to be a travel channel. It's turning into something else with Twitch trivia, podcasts revolving around old movies and these quotes.
Molly needs to take a step back and decide what her company IS. This Sheppard's pie of leftovers that is the channel today isn't a sustainable model.
