I’ve said this before on this thread but I cannot shout it louder. If you have tried the chilled frites or the M&S frozen French fries) and you’ve thought them a bit dry, then cook them from fresh, or frozen and add more oil (I use groundnut but any will do) to them to give them a genuine deep fried fried super crispy taste. I’m not talking a lot of oil, , I’m talking about a drizzle of oil all over them then mix on non stick parchment paper. Bake with fan or airfry according to instructions but keep an eye, depending on oven will take longer to get that deep fried golden taste.season with fine sea salt. Game changer.

👏 YES YES YES 👏

Thank you. Tried this tonight with the fresh chips (from the meat + side + sauce meal deal) and they were absolutely delicious. I strongly recommend your recommendation.

I asked where the Robbie Reindeer chocolate pie things were last night and apparently there are none left in the business and even most of the staff didn't get to try them. I've been looking for them since November. Meh. Maybe they'll make a few more next year.

They're always in stock in the two food halls closest to me - I've just checked the app and they're still showing availability, so get town to NW London if you want some mediocre & overrated pies 🤣

They were maybe the worst thing I've tried in a while from M&S 😅

This is a strange one but does anyone know if their wine gums are like what Maynards used to be? I had a craving for some and got them but they're all oily and grim now. I want old school ones that aren't from a tiny sweet shop in the Outer Hebrides .

id you mean mince pies there was a few at ours last night. hidden on the bottom shelf tbh. I have to say I'm shocked at how much they seem to be hiding their Christmas stuff and wonder if it's because they didnt order enough. We are almost out of Christmas Puddings and aside from a few boxes of mince pies most of the stuff we do have is the premium tit like gin mince pies or £14 xmas cakes

The Robbie Reindeer pies are different from mince pies, they have a brownie filling instead. They went viral on social media, so they became really popular, but I don't think anyone who has tried one has had anything good to say about them 😅

M&S haul (like the influencers do, but just in words). Tons of Robbie Reindeers in our store. No sign that white choccy and gingerbread cookies ever existed, so I treated me us to some triple choc ones instead. Mr Zeb is out tonight, so I grabbed the much heralded Best Ever Chicken Tikka, the one in the black box. Will report back on that later. Obligatory cheese scone, which I will eat at lunchtime whilst pondering where the extra weight is coming from. Oh, and the Christmas sourdough gave me those puppy dog eyes, so I rehomed one. The mint choc selection tubs were on yellow sticker too, so that's gone in the "don't eat till Christmas" pile.

My first visit in 3 months to my local store as I've been recovering from an op and our store was undergoing refurbishment. The yellow label gods where looking down on me but I didn't grab too much as I purposely only had a basket. I got the cheesy garlic Xmas tree for £2.46, stone baked garlic bread sticks £1.18 and beef burger spring rolls £1.69.
No sign of the gingerbread cookies which I was looking forward to trying. But I did get marmite cheese and marmite cheese bake for Xmas. Oh and a bottle of salted caramel oatshake which has been MIA for what seems like years! I also got the blond pecans, smokey ancho nuts and sweet and spicy mix for stocking fillers. Tried the Xmas sando for lunch which was nice, not very christmassy, but I did enjoy it. A couple of bags of Xmas Percys also fell into my basket too! 😁
