I think I've missed something somewhere along the line.....howcome Darren Hunter's name didn't also come back as a partial DNA match (full/half sibling) when they discovered that Tommy (his father) was Jo's blood relative? Has his DNA info been wiped from the PNC database or was it never recorded in the first place?

It sounded like the gang weren’t convicted and I think in that case any DNA taken is wiped off the database after a certain period. They didn’t say whether he had any other convictions.

I do think it’s significant though that they knew straightaway he was Hunter’s son while they had absolutely no idea about Jo until the DNA came back. Surely that can only mean that wherever she grew up, it wasn’t with Tommy Hunter.

ETA: I know he’s a Hunter and she’s a Davidson but I don’t think that alone fully explains the instant recognition vs no idea at all.

Simon Banerjee has to come back at some point. Unless he’s been killed.
I bloody hope H isn’t Jimmy Nesbitt or I’m throwing the tv out the fuckin’ window.

Honestly me too, dog will be going through the TV.

My daughter watched him on something recently and said his Irish accent was crap and I was like erm..he is Irish 😂

He spoils every show he is in for me, just cant watch him.

H suspects (assuming they've been in since series 1)

-Hastings. Looks guilty as hell, suspected in season 5 and somethings are still at a loose end- why he told Banks about corbett, why he got his laptop trashed (lets not believe it was because of porn!)

- Steve and Kate-both seem a bit young- they'd have been in their late 20s/early 30s in series 1, and given Hunter's involvement, it's likely H was an older person who recruited Hunter. The other "3 H's" weren't really the masterminds, just the key people in the police, none of whom weren't particularly that smart. Could have been passed on, but seems a bit of a crappy ending.

-Nigel Morton- is he Keyser Soze?! He was happy to go along with Dot suggesting someone else was the cady in series 2, he was tipping journalists (to cause drama?!). He "retired" at the end, so he wouldn't have so much influence in the police, but could have set up enough of a network he doesn't need to be active.

- Buckells- already addressed.

-Osborne- too obvious. He's clearly corrupt and awful but he's basically a pantomime villain.

-PC Karen larkin and PC Simon Bannerjee-Larkin was one of the absolute worst. She went into Terry's flat and totally dismissed him-a quick check and she might have found Jackie Laverty in his freezer and saved Terry from a decade of not having ice cream or frozen chips. Was that on purpose?! She also told Bannerjee to stop chasing Ryan, was she making sure he was free or just rubbish? Ryan cited Bannerjee as an influence for him being on the force. We have no idea what happened on the estate after series 1.

- Keeley Pilkington- Ryan's mum was young and seen complaining in the police station and then later, lying on the sofa. Doesn't seem like she has the energy to be a criminal mastermind but the impression is given she let Ryan get into trouble and gang activity, was she a deadbeat parent or was it an act?! (highly unlikely but stranger things).

- DS Leah Janson- basically just there to stir things with Kate, which seems like a bit of a waste, she didn't really o anything. Could be misdirection, but highly improbable).

There's some other super minor characters- the old guy on the estate (double bluff?!), the lawyer or social worker who goes to the interview with Ryan, a few other police officers but that would be a bit of a cop out.

There’s a lot of speculation about Chloe in series 6 being the same Chloe from Series 1 if we are going with the idea it’s someone from series 1!! Maybe she found out about her dads affair and wanted Jackie dead. Then get her dad involved in being bent to punish him for cheating on her mum 😂

I’m not sure it even is meant to be the same Chloe just think it would be funny to have all been started by a child who you’d literally never suspect!

I am not convinced the age would really work out for Chloe to be Tony Gates daughter from season one but I could be wrong (usually am).

I’m also a Jimmy Nesbitt fan but would be pretty annoyed if it turns out to be him after all this time. Not sure if I’d Ben more annoyed if it was him or Hasting, Steve or Kate 😆

I feel like we aren’t going to know properly with only two episodes left Is there not too much to cover?

I was thinking that it could be Andrea Wise. Reading this though I don’t think anyone else has said it so I must be well off and missed something in an earlier series for her to be totally ruled out.

Adrian did say on GMB that if the viewing figures are good enough there will be series 7. So can we all stop watching then theyll end it and we will find out who H is😂. Also i think its Ted (dont want it to be) but as the saying goes "the lady doth protesteth too much". We all know his sayings about Bent Coppers. I hope im wrong.

We don’t know whether or when Jo knew he was her dad, or whether Hunter knew. If he never acknowledged her, and she likely didn’t grow up with/around him and didn’t get involved in his activities then I can see him not telling anyone. The recognition is from her DNA which would never have been run through the database before because Jo has never been cautioned or convicted of a crime.

I love the ‘Hunter is alive theories’ it’s very plausible! We know he WAS in the car, but beyond that... Wouldn’t be be seen as a rat though? Perhaps he was hiding and recovering in S3 while Dot was doing his thing and getting killed, lots of the bent coppers then began to get found out... was he leaking it to someone to bring down the people who had betrayed him by wanting to off him?

She thought they were under surveillance and would have been informed of anything suss was going on.

Ted saying “that’s my officer” 💔💔💔
Yes I picked up on this , put this together with the eyes locking and nod in the lift a couple of episodes back . She's deep undercover

I literally cannot take Jimmy nesbitt seriously, he has one of those "take the hand" faces as we say in Northern Ireland (basically someone who is always smirking an acting a fool). In interviews etc I really like him but as an actor he is bloody AWFUL!
I saw him play a serious character in something a while back and he was good at being evil....not Bloodlands
