Liam Payne #5

It’s sad but… actions have consequences. They all could’ve walked away, retired and become great involved fathers but they’re too busy chasing fame and the feeling of being worshipped.

Liam launched his solo career when Bear was like two months old and never was really that present because he was focusing on his career, he, also like Zayn and Louis became a young father so probably not really ready.
How sad to see it wrote so plainly like that, as no one would have worshipped them like their own little ones 😞
From all reports 🐻 did and probably still does, even if he wasn't a daily presence etc he naturally must have thought so much of him.
That's why I hope a proper investigation is completed, as even though it won't be for a long time no one deserves the right answers more than his little boy.
Even if the truth is heartbreaking to hear, he still deserves the truth, not years mired in speculation.

As sad as it is, it’s the truth for a lot of people in the industry. I don’t doubt at all that he did not absolutely love his son, but the industry is a beast unfortunately.

It’s why so many female singers stop once they have children because it’s just not a child friendly career. You think, hotel to hotel, up at 4am to get ready doing promo all day, here there and everywhere meeting people having people telling you what to do all day, perform in the evening then meet a load of fans and business people then get in at like 2am to start it all over again. Liam had someone who was done with her career and wanted to be a mum, desperately. so he was lucky that he had that support system that allowed him to carry on with his career.

It’s the sad reality, it’s why the industry as a whole needs looking at. And hopefully this has put a magnifying glass on the hours and lifestyle these people work.

Are we not all a product of our upbringing and things that have happened to us?
This is not saying it’s ok they do drugs or have been abusive because they’ve been in a boyband but more they are coping mechanism and personify traits because of it.
I also think some people have it in them to be more likely to get addicted, and some people don’t.
Some people can handle fame well but some people can’t. And I feel like Liam definitely struggled going from that massive fame and being so busy, to suddenly not doing so well, so much more free time, and from what I’ve seen, did read the trolling. Pair that with drink/drug problems and it’s definitely going to get worse :(

It must be difficult being the arguably best singer on the X Factor to being Average at the end of the group and seeing those around you succeed on global scales while you fail at being the next Justin Bieber. You could tell by how he bragged around things in his solo career when the others were humble about bigger successes than he was gaining. It’s sad. It’s sad that he didn’t have a support system to tell him that it was ok to not be at their level. Just be you.

So the hotel workers the police have been questioning are now saying liam was bothering them a lot for drink and drugs and when they took him back to his room they were waiting outside the door whilst phoning for help 🤷‍♀️

Just read the article now, this bit stood out to me It came as reports suggested a psychiatrist had emailed Nores to advise it was 'impossible' to continue supporting Liam with his mental health - and to warn of the risks associated with mixing antidepressants and alcohol
Anyone know if this common practice for a psychiatrist to say someone is 'impossible' to work with?
Also why Roger again?! Even if they were just friends rather than Roger being his manager etc, it just seems such an imposition to have this responsibility for a friend, and not like it's worked well in his favour now either 😕

Each person who gives an account of what happened, doesn't match what someone else has said.

Massively concerning Esteban (the reception manager) has said Liam was unconscious on more than 1 occasion in the foyer & looked visably unwell, yet they kept taking him back to his room rather than getting him medical help. The cctv images of them dragging him, the latest one Liam looks unconscious in, are horrible.

I wouldn't expect anyone to be treated like they treated him.

Roger was his manager, you have to remember…. Liam has never been independent, his whole life has been managed for him most likely to a fine detail and he put too much trust and faith into people HE paid there was a complete power imbalance. I remember him saying when bodyguards would tell him he couldn’t leave the hotels etc he’d do what they asked as if they had a power over him forgetting he was the bodyguards manager.

I was listening to Girls Alound on a podcast recently and they didn’t even know they had to pay bills, taxes etc after Popstars and while they were at the height of their fame. Nadine was shocked they they got a bill in the tens of thousands for their transport as they thought it was free. Cheryl had stacks of bills over a year because she didn’t know what to do with them. Nicola once asked her parents to write a note to their management asking for a sick day. It’s very very very isolating and clearly not a healthy industry to be in. I hope Robbie Williams stick to their word and fight for change, for Liam.

Yep there's a saying for addiction they have to be ready to be in recovery he was in the pre- contemplation stage. He had not had many consequences for his addiction, he was very rich. There wasn't much motivation to change. That's what the pysch means if someone is in that pre- contemplation stage there's not much you can really do.

The sad reality is, they've both picked up bad habits along the way that could catch up with them one day. Eg Zayn has been smoking since he was 15. I know not everything is black and white, and everyone's situations are different but it makes me think of Bryan Curtis who start smoking at age 13 and this was him around zayns age:

And then there's Louis who drinks like it's a personality trait, and both have a history of drug use

If their time in 1D was really as bad and damaging as I’ve learnt on these threads, then smoking isn’t really the worst addiction he could have right now.

Would he not have been in the relapse stage as he already went to rehab?

I don't know much about niall, maybe he doesn't do stuff or he hides it better 🤷‍♀️ but Harry is/was also a known drinker and smoker. I guess it all comes down to the image they want to portray to their fans at the end of the day. Louis seems to do festivals where the drinking culture is celebrated, I'm not sure about Zayn as this is his first tour since 1d I think? So I'm not sure who his kind of "target audience" is. But Harry and Niall seem to be more aimed towards younger/teenage girls so maybe have to hide those things more?
I think at the end of the day though the 4 of them clearly have had better people around them than Liam unfortunately did and its sadly evident in everything from their careers to Liams passing.
Obviously it's none of my business and I'd never actually want to know but I do wonder what the 4 of them make of everything behind closed doors. My tiktok fyp is full of videos of them from their 1d days it's hard to remember sometimes that they weren't that close anymore.

I wonder how many of them took for granted that there would always be a call for a reunion one day so the here and now didn’t really matter.

Off topic but this reminded me of the time Zayns texts to his hook up were leaked, and he didn't know people actually worked on Sundays. Seemed so out of touch

Again the whole trashing the room/hookers thing seems off to me from reading the messages that were leaked. Who tells a prostitute in WhatsApp they need to tidy the hotel room before them coming over? So weird. Who randomly sends their instagram link to prostitutes too? He barely used insta. Certain parts seem so exaggerated like a set up. Like ok we get it he had hookers and was trashing the room how many times do they want to keep saying it, becomes too forced. And he was ordering so much booze from the hotel but there was only one glass of wine that was nearly full by the perfectly broken TV after he’d been in there all afternoon with 2 girls supposedly? No wonder the conspiracies are out as absolutely none of it adds up to me 🤔

I don't want to sound like someone with a tinfoil hat and I don't really know that much about Liam and his patterns before he died. But I do wonder if the hotel staff or whoever panicked after he fell and tried to mess his room up to make it look like he was just off his head on drugs and going crazy to cover up them locking him up alone in his room
