Ferrari asked when Starmer had first approached Sue Grey about working for him. Starmer refused to give a straight answer, just repeating that nothing improper happened.

He did sound very evasive and didn't come across well.

If I was Starmer I'd call the Tories' bluff and say that if they're not happy with Sue Gray's neutrality they should have another investigation into Partygate.

I must admit I enjoyed listening to James reading out the extracts from Tom Bowers book regarding Stanley Johnson beating the tit out of Boris' mother. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it ...although I don't think Boris knocks women about, he just knocks them up.

Did you forget that Boris Johnson's neighbours called the police a few years ago and complained of a noisy altercation. They said they heard Carrie shouting "Get off me" and "Get out of my flat".

Thanks Maggie. I read that Twitter had an outage problem this afternoon, which is why I probably couldn't read it. I have just tried it again and the little Twitter bird has woken and started to tell me everything!

I wondered who would be Leading Britain's Conversation at 10pm tonight. I see it is Ben Kentish aka LBC's Westminster Editor.

Wonder if he'll ever read out any extracts from Tom Bower's book about Meghan Markle ?

Should Charlie Bronson be freed from jail?
"I'm knocking 70, getting too old for rumbles" says Charlie to the parole board.

John in Liverpool is a fan of Charlie though 😂

Any more news on Steve Allen’s exit?
Just read on another thread on what we call the dark side that the chemist in Twickenham is still posting about all the cards and present the shops are taking in for Steve whilst he is "away". It is his birthday on 17th so his die hard fans will be sending him presents and cards. I also read that his live show was cancelled.

Reading between the lines if the above are true there is far more to this story and I would expect Steve is maybe not in a good place, especially if he has been away from home since it happened. I do hope he is OK and has good people around him to look after him. I expect he will be devastated.

From the stuff I've read my opinion is that his contract was coming-up for renewal and the bean-counters at LBC weighed-up the pro's and con's of having him and decided to ditch him. I don't think there's any major conspiracy other than those that sign the cheques felt he was 'outdated' and for better or for worse (for worse in my opinion) could do without any potential fallout his acerbic wit occassionally causes. In short, he was cancelled.

Steve has been away from home? How do you know that?

As I said it is what I read on another forum where they read on another forum (think it maybe gransnet). I have no idea if it is true but it is supposedly coming from a Twickenham shop owner who says the shops are taking in parcels for him and they are not taking in any more as they have 93 parcels and they don't know when he will be back.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder how he's getting on with not working. As others have said, it's his life.

I'm taking that with a big pinch of salt, the shop owner posting about Steve on some random forum, that is, not your post i10gal.
This character allegedly owns a 'pack & post' business, he certainly should not be publicly telling about people's post/parcels.
When I worked for Royal Mail we had to sign The Official Secrets Act.
Steve's trolls are missing him terribly, they'll still be banging on about him years from now, a bit like O'Bingo and Brexit 😁
