Maybe talk TV or GB news could just stream video of Twickenham during his show if he didn't want to be on TV 😆. Most people would listen to the audio only id presume

His producers changed so often, I'm sure they wouldn't have trouble finding the same types

It's difficult because I have no idea which station would be good for him. We can rule out BBC stations. He comes with a little controversy, so he would need to change his style a bit and pull back on mocking and criticising celebs too. It could work if he did change his style though.

I would guess his lbc boss told Steve to change or go and change wasn't possible so I can't see him doing that anywhere else either. Though he would be allowed more freedom on talk radio.

Steve has to do something, otherwise he'll have no purpose with his live to work attitude.

I don't think his own podcast has much legs, that kind of stuff I don't think would work for him. He's probably got next to no room with all that clutter in his flat to even fit a microphone in.

Unless is was all bollocks (which it might have been) I've heard Ferrari and even O'Brien say on air how much they respected Steve as a broadcaster. I think I've also heard Iain Dale praise him too. Whatever has happened I'm sure the departure of Steve will be felt throughout Global Towers, the message being: no one is untouchable. I wonder who is next to go.

It's not bollocks. Nick Abbot and Carol McGiffin were discussing him on one of their podcasts and both were saying what an amazing presenter he was and how he made his show look so easy.

Clive Bull must be wondering about his position too.

That was during the Ramsay daughter thing I believe, nick didn't want to talk about the future of Steve at lbc but was full of admiration for his career.

I mean it's not mutually exclusive, someone can respect Steve for what he's done for so long, while also thinking his show isn't what should be on lbc in 2023. I imagine most in global towers have that view.

There will always be people out to get someone like Steve Allen who they regard as a dinosaur.

The Tilly Ramsey thing really pissed me off at the time because there is no way a 19 years old is going to be listening to Steve at 4am so someone obviously told her/her agents and then it became a massive thing of which she gained a lot of media attention and sympathy votes on Strictly. I'll assume the Sam Smith thing is the same if that is the reason why he's gone.

I am so sick of people walking on eggshells around Sam Smith. Most people don't misgender them on purpose. It also goes against every natural way of talking. Richard Madeley, Ranvir Singh, Alex Jones, Bob Geldof all fallen foul recently.

Demi Lovato was the same. She decided she was non binary only to decide a while later she was a female after all. Is it any wonder most people find it all ridiculous.

It's an attention-seeking device. I really don't know much about Sam Smith, I keep hearing the name and frankly, couldn't give a flying duck about who he is. Tilly is a chubby little thing, if anything it's almost a term of endearment compared with calling her a 'lump' or 'chunky', plus I'd never even heard of her before Steve mentioned her. Tilly's father never bullied anyone of course did he.

Yeah it's not really fair the way things are taken out of their own bubble. Then people want to cancel anything that they don't like, even if they were never part of the audience.

It is a odd how certain things are totally offlimits, such as someone's weight. The tabloids still do it but only in a more underhand way with posting photos of someone looking awful with a headline like "showcases their stunning curves"

Changing the subject slightly ...

Nick A was talking about seasonal eating. It takes me back to being a kid and my mum used to be constantly explaining to me why we couldn't have strawberries in February :ROFLMAO: I did love it when tangerines came back in at the grocers because it meant Christmas wasn't too far away.

O'Brien must be nervous after the Laura K incident.

By the way there was quite a nasty message on Twitter from Iain Lee about Steve Allen. I presume they must have had a bust up in the past.
