Ah ok, so the 6-7 which did used to be a stand alone slot with Farage before Eddie did three hours if I'm right.

Be interesting to see how the presenters deal with the Russia/Ukraine conflict.

He can when he needs to be. He always seems to do okay if there is a breaking story.

Caught the first half hour of O'bingo today & he was almost trying to inform the listener that he's being right all along about Putin/Ukraine.
This is despite it hardly being on his over-sized radar in recent weeks.
Anyone falling for his schtick should seek help.
He's sounding increasingly deranged any time I catch a bit of his show.

Once you keep going down the conspiracy road you can't stop! Look at Carole Cadwalladr who sees Brexit conspiracies everywhere.

Of course James has indulged her nonsense as well. The desperation is palpable

Yeah, I found it quite refreshing. At times like this you get a lot of ego-mad pompous journalists and 'experts' getting off on all this tit and talking hot-air. Steve was like a 12 year old asking questions and frankly, that's just what we needed when it all kicked-off. You know Matt Frei has been praying for this ... his one last big ego-trip as a war correspondent, standing there in his flak-jacket (miles from any danger).
 
Jobby is struggling with sanctions, he just got himself embarrassed by a financial lady.
Regarding Russia's sperBank he never knew that the UK has imposed sanctions on them since 2014, around the time of Russia invading Crimea.
Instead he attempted sanctions by USA - good
UK - bad.
Woeful, he's now tetchy and hectoring a caller, caller gets cut off and told to go to facebook to study neo-nazis. 😁

The problem for James is more than that. Having let himself be influenced by Carole Cadwalladr he has taken the line that the UK will not impose sanctions.

Not only have we done so but it is Germany and Italy who are stalling because of links with Russia and not the UK. Obviously this leaves Cadwalladr looking very silly but it also means James has made a fool of himself.

If we look at his record and for example the Carl Beech debacle he will just go into denial.

Bet he didn't mention that the Italians have scored themselves an opt out from the sanctioning of luxury goods. Seems that supplying Gucci handbags to oligarchs' wives is more important than a country's sovereignty.
 
Has LBC been doing wall to wall of Ukraine just like Talk? Necessary for everything to be about Ukraine or not?

I listened in to bits and bobs in the morning of Ferrari & Mike Graham but I can't listen to constant depressing coverage all day, same thing when it was Afghanistan 6 months ago and to a lesser extent, even when Prince Philip died and a few times during COVID.

I haven't listened much to LBC the last couple of days. Not even Steve.
 
I haven't visited this site for a few days, so I may have missed any news / gossip etc. !

After hearing the promos for Andrew Marr's new programme from 6pm, I wondered how long it was going to be. Would Iain lose part of his programme? I have just read it is just the hour, as Nigel used to do. Eddie, of course reverts to 2 hours.

That leaves Jon and Emily to fit in - weekends 1 - 3pm ????

Morning All

No James is boasting about Ireland being willing to take in refugees from Ukraine. Whilst it is a nice gesture that is all it is I doubt many there have even heard of Ireland.

Meanwhile with the UK at the front of those providing missiles to Ukraine and it becoming ever clearer that his heroine Angela Merkel sold out Ukraine all he has left is the conspiracies of an utter fantasist.

 
James seems to becoming more unhinged. I doubt anyone in Ukraine is concerned by this. Still it allows him to be rude and call people names which is one of his favourite hobbies.
