I remember when Nick Abbot hosted entertaining, fun shows on radio, anything goes, what's your favourite music, tv shows etc.
He's rambled on since after 10 tonight about brexit car parks in Kent, lorry drivers peeing in bushes, quite bizarre.
He's now just spent about 5 mins promoting his podcast.
I'm running out of shows to listen to on LBC
There really is no variety, just constant politics and gloom.

No, he hasn't. It's like James O'Brien lite. I much prefer Nick and Carol's podcast. His radio show has become almost unlistenable.

He is 'old' Nick in the podcasts. Quite a different person. Like the person who fist started at LBC. I remember back then he actually wouldn't discuss politics. The station changed it's format and he had to get with the programme. Carol said in one of the podcasts she left LBC when they wanted her to be more serious on a Sunday morning.

I still listen to Nick but I know fairly early on what kind of show it's going to be. I do turn him off if he's particularly grumpy.

Oh James is very needy. Desperate for validation. If he ever lost his show or couldn't get his awful books published I'd be concerned for him.
The problem for him is that he is now trapped by his audience who want ever more anti Brexit shows. He can't change course because his name calling has alienated so many.

Is his audience growing? I can’t quite see how it would be, I mean he’s not going to find many new listeners still obsessed with Brexit 6 years on I wouldn’t have thought.

He massively bought his own hype when he became the self-appointed voice of Remain, found a new fan base and became unbearably smug. Before that I remember him doing some lefty political stuff but also vaguely innocuous topics like how nice it was to be married. He could never return to that now. His show just seems like such a depressing dead end - depressing for the audience, depressing for him and probably depressing for his entire family.

He’s probably got one of those conspiracy pinboards in his home office with newspaper clippings where he spends hours fiddling around with pins and string linking absolutely everything in the world back to BREXIT. Oh well. I guess it pays his Chiswick mortgage.

Jesus wept, Abbot's banging on about brexit the past 2 hours, with a bit of Trump thrown in.
Us poor serfs are just getting on with life the best we can these days Nick, that's the reality.
This is really lazy broadcasting again from LBC.
Awful, I lasted 15 minutes.

I am once again listening to too much LBC and it is really making me start to hate any conversation about politics and/or current affairs and/or anyone who attempts to predict the future and all the awful things that will DEFINITELY happen in it.

Everyone, especially LBC presenters, should take a humility pill and realise that nobody knows tit about anything. And I should probably go back to Magic FM lol 😂

I find Serenade radio the perfect antidote to LBC. :)

I don't think James increased his listeners but he did become the most listened to on LBC as Ferrari lost a few.

James wears it as a badge of honour that he can't get to interview anyone politically (apart from Mayor of London) but really it shows how poor he is.
Big hitters like Paxman and Neil always gave their interviewees a hard time but still had politicians lined up to speak to. Same with Ferrari. I assume politicians just don't want to be shouted at by a 6th form debater.

Have a feeling that Ferrari lost listeners from the Red Wall in the North as they probably tired of hearing of Hammersmith Bridge, he’s still way too London-centric.

And yes Serenande Radio is a good one, I sing along with most of the lyrics, don”t know if this is a good, bad or sad thing😉

It's probably an old thing. :ROFLMAO:

Ferrari is a bit obsessed with Hammersmith bridge. Maybe he should discuss the mess that is the ring road in Leeds or the resurfacing work that's been going on for years in County Road, Liverpool .... 🤪

Speaking of Liverpool I was at King’s Cross Station early yesterday trying to get out of town, no luck but .. several large groups of football supporters were arriving every once in a while singing the praises of LFC at the top of their voices. Weren’t they playing at home yesterday 🤔

They were but like Man United fans they come from far and wide. Maybe they were trying to get up there for the match.

They were definitely arriving, staff were channeling them outside to keep that area clear .. and if they were travelling up they were at the wrong station 😉
Just found it strange .. code for I was peed because some had managed a journey and I hadn’t 🤫
