The situation in Ukraine is very important, this is about Russia (and China) noticing & exploiting signs of weakness in the Western powers, especially after the way Afghanistan was left to fend for itself after the sudden US/UK withdrawal.
Putin sees this as an opportunity to de-stabilise Europe/Nato, as well as trying to look like a tough guy to voters.
Note how quiet Germany are on this, they receive almost 50% of their gas from Russia.
I am more than happy to see this being discussed on LBC instead of endless Brexit, then again if we want to learn more about the big, wide, world out there, tune into the excellent BBC WorldService.

This is a big problem for the O'Brien name calling approach. The UK has supported Ukraine and was doing so when Brian was supporting the fantasies of Carole Cadwalladr ( that Russia runs the UK govt), for example last year we sent a destroyer to support its use of the waters around Crimea. Recently we sent them anti-tank missiles for which they were grateful. Meanwhile Brian joined in on the attacks on Liz Truss.

By contrast as you say it is Germany which is on the hook to Russia. But Brian has assured us that the EU has kept the peace in Europe for 50 years which the EU shambles around Ukraine has shown up. With all his name calling he cannot do any sort of nuance and is in a mess. For example I am no fan of President Macron but when he went to Moscow he was trying to calm things.

I don't see that Putin has any problems. I understood that the results of the next Russian General Election has already been decided !!

Talking of things international ..... Today is 'World Radio Day' . The day is dedicated to honouring the oldest and the most widely used means of communication and diverse platforms for democratic discourse. UNESCO asks the entire world to celebrate this day with the most robust, high-reaching medium of communication.

Let there be dancing in the streets. A banner proclaiming the day be placed across the front of Global Towers ! (Who will be the first to ring LBC and tell some hapless presenter the news) ?!

Jimbo attempted an hour on Ukraine, if it hadn't been for some good, knowledgeable callers he'd have floundered again.
He's back onto Brexit, Boris etc as usual.
Sexual arousal via smell, followed by Clive Anderson's Loose Ends on Radio 4 for me

Can't be any worse than Corbyn & Abbot's view that Nato, the US/UK are the aggressors.

I agree that he’s not boring. But he’s also
a massive rabble-rouser and virtually hysterical at times. Remember when he compared Jacob R-M to Hitler? The other day he invoked Donald Trump 6 times when talking about Boris Johnson. He’s a clever bloke and I’m sure knows exactly what effect that sort of comparison will have on some people. And this during a show when he was complaining about how dangerous was Boris’ invoking of Jimmy Savile against Kier Starmer!
 
Actually that sounds quite refreshing from Jimbo.

I wonder if he will ever properly run out of steam about Brexit. It must be weird to know that your success - or at least increased popularity - is based largely on your ability to thunder away about one (tedious and increasingly dated) subject. He can’t be attracting new listeners on this subject, can he? Most people really have moved on and don’t spent all day every day going around looking for stuff to blame on Brexit.

Jimbo has his own version of Godwin's Law ... all roads lead to Brexit! :p

Listening to him trying to discuss the situation in the Ukraine has really showed that he is a bit of a one trick pony.

The ironic thing being that just prior to referendum he was as confused and mixed up about Brexit as most of the population and now he makes out he knew all along what would happen and he's trying to save us from ourselves.

He'll never run out of steam about brexit, he knows it's all his demented fanbase want to hear, day after day.
I like to listen to the opening monologue, then it's switch over to something else a bit more positive or easy going, 3hrs of jimbo every day would put a person in a perilous state of mind.
He's a very lazy broadcaster, I have posted a few times previously about him trying an hour on the Ukraine situation, he is absolutely clueless.
