Colin's LBC Cuckdom is a hoot today, you can only gain entry if you have a chip on both shoulders & a can of Mace spray though, Jack Reacher style

I agree that James is insufferable. I switch on for mystery hour only, and that's it. Ramming his opinions down everyone's throats and banging on about Brexit at any given (and often irrelevant) opportunity, and should anyone bare to disagree with him, they are wrong and stupid, bit heavy for morning radio.
He has got the Cressida Dick situation wrong as well.

Nick F. having a rant about the shambles that was the Carl Beech affair, and all the gullible idiots who believed his lies. I bet somebody who is sitting waiting to take over at 10 is squirming!

That’s a really good article, I think it sums him up perfectly. Nick F is so much better at allowing different viewpoints on. James really has wrapped himself up in a bubble of “perfectly curated” callers who agree with him. It’s really quite creepy.
The problem of the Brian echo chamber is two fold
1. He us trapped by his own listeners so there is no good news. For example he had to ignore the good news on the economy today and he ended up joining in on the attack on out foreign policy when we have been one of the leaders in helping Ukraine. The latter involves him attacking a woman ( Liz Truss) again and there is a word for a man who does that.
2. He has insulted so many that there is not much room for growth. Also if you are advertisers you may avoid his show if you sell to groups he insults.

Bloody part timers. Mind you they act like they are back in school most of the time anyway.
That is rather harsh on schools I think....

I had a longish drive today, with an LBC addict, so we had Andrew Castle and Matt Frei there, and David Lammy and Natasha Devon back.

I’ve not listened to so much LBC in one day In a very long time. What an incredibly depressing experience it was. World War 3 is about to start, our country is a cesspit of homophobia, sexism and racism, our police force is corrupt and incompetent (and homophobic, sexist and racist), and we’re led by a populist Donald Trump dictator type character whose very presence is a threat to democracy. (That last bit was Lammy, who didn’t seem to see the irony in describing Boris in this way while having a go at him for his “extreme” rhetoric re Savile).

I’d go nuts if I listened to this every day. Talk Radio is so much more fun.

I was listening to Matt Frei this morning, also driving. I think he was talking to person after person about Ukraine (can we talk about Brexit, please ?!). After awhile I switched to LBC News. Even if they keep repeating the same story, each story only lasts for a few minutes.

O'brien thinks he is some sort of media intelligensia, he tried an hour about the situation in Ukraine a week or two back and was clueless, reverted back since then to Brexit, playing to his gallery.
It really is very lazy radio from LBC and James.

The situation in Ukraine is very important, this is about Russia (and China) noticing & exploiting signs of weakness in the Western powers, especially after the way Afghanistan was left to fend for itself after the sudden US/UK withdrawal.
Putin sees this as an opportunity to de-stabilise Europe/Nato, as well as trying to look like a tough guy to voters.
Note how quiet Germany are on this, they receive almost 50% of their gas from Russia.
I am more than happy to see this being discussed on LBC instead of endless Brexit, then again if we want to learn more about the big, wide, world out there, tune into the excellent BBC WorldService.
