She'd certainly put the cat amongst Jobby's pigeons.

I know what you mean, but I don't see why though. If you have the courage of your convictions you should welcome alternative views and argue them down with reason and fact. Just calling people 'thick as mince', 'racist', or calling for them to be 'de-platformed' doesn't make for a healthy society. Of course ... as corporate media continues to fail, rational, reasoned, fact-based debate is just about dead. Suella seems quite a confident, intelligent woman who will give James' mansplaining short-shrift and he doesn't like it when a woman does that.

JOB’s entire schtick is to resort to the gotcha style interview. Twisting people’s words in order to “win” the point. Majid Nawaz was very similar in that respect, he wasn’t happy to let a caller go until they’d conceded that he was right.

It's a very tired act, the minute he senses someone can make a proper argument against him, he starts talking over them, firing question after question waiting for the tiniest slip or hesitation at which point he jumps right on them and talks to fade

I quite liked Majid insofar as I found his background quite interesting. I don't doubt he's a flawed individual (like most broadcasters), but his topics usually interested me more than Brexit and Tory bashing. I think he was on Saturday right? Weekend callers can be quite good.

I'd actually quite like LBC to have a series of international hosts. One from each continent each week, focusing more on global issues or issues from their home continent. Ok, I know what you're all going to say: "Thank You, we'll file it under 'an idea'." 😬🗄

Yes he did Saturday mornings and stood in for JOB ‘s time off in the week. He was always very honourable when midweek callers told him they preferred him to JOB. Wouldn’t allow them to slag him off. Bit rich considering the attack JOB made on him at Ketners Champagne Bar (oh the irony!).

Actually I rather like it.

But LBC has a problem. I know that the link below is from The News Agents but it sums up the arrogance of our media.

For a start what is Maitlis doing in the US? After it was was Sopel who was the US correspondent.

But I guess Sopel needs a whole packet of immodium if someone even mentions Trump after the way the Donald humiliated him.

Emily loves to schmooze with the commentariat. Her great mate Matt Frei will have been there also for Channel 4. Those two are thick as thieves. They love a freebie as well as the the finer things in life. Not sure if they both like Sopel ... probably more a case of 'tolerating' him considering he's apparently a major bleeping diva (they all are, but Sopel is the biggest). Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind Matt when he isn't getting hysterical ... 😬 I wish they would stop obsessing over Trump though ... but Trump is good for da meeja as we know, people would much rather listen to the deranged ramblings of an insane gameshow host than, say, Sir Kier talking about <insert dull subject>.

Oli Dugmore voicing his outrage at the length of sentencing for the M25 Tolpuddle Martyrs..A peaceful protest trying to prevent the planet from burning up..Ironically then turning to yesterday's IT outrage and saying how dreadful it was for airports to be so badly affected preventing people from jetting off on their precious hols. Poor old planet, eh?

He mentioned a wife...She must be very resilient. Wonder whether the extended break was due to a lavish honeymoon in far off climes?

Yes I heard that too, the irony 😅 . I have heard him mention his wife before so I think he has been married longer.

I see the horrible Marina Purkiss getting trashed on X with her comments replying to a Liz Truss tweet. 🤣

Ian Payne was the same. He thought the sentence was too severe. I suppose it is compared to the non-custodial sentences handed out for assault, rape and even murder, but perhaps the judge thought it might serve as a lesson for these pests, who usually get away with a fine or a spot of community service.

Chris Packham has 'demanded' a meeting with the Attourney General regarding the length of sentence. If I was the AG I would parrot the old Brian Clough line: "He's welcome to come into my office, sit down, talk about it for 20 minutes and then we decide I was right". :ROFLMAO: Packham of course is the man who said he'd rather see Humans killed than Animals ....You first Chris, you first.

These were the judges sentencing notes, the ignorant buffoons everywhere pronouncing the verdicts as harsh were probably the same people wo had a meltdown when the mail had the 'enemies of the people' story

All these presenters are comparing apples and oranges. O'Brien was comparing them to Boris Johnson (obviously) and Wright to the bosses of water companies whining about why do JSO get punished and these people don't? I'll assume these twats have never been effected by this sort of behaviour.

It's not either/or. It was not a peaceful protest. It was an act of terrorism. Literally thousands of people where effected by their antics. I live near where one of the major gantry protests was and it cause absolute chaos both on and off the M25. What about all the people who missed work, flights, appointments, funerals, hospital treatments etc etc . How about when people can't get police to something because the police have spent over million pounds of their budget on these idiots?

JSO have also made it perfectly clear that they have no intention of stopping so what's the point of a slapped wrist? Blocking a side road in London is one thing, bringing the M25 to a complete standstill is another.
