I'm trying to find a pic I remember of her handwritten "stocktake" where she already had more food in than my local Tesco express... Can't find that but this did make me laugh

Under the spoiler is the quarter hack (it makes me cringe just typing that) in all its absolutely tedious glory from Grifty Kitchen. She’s managed to pad it out to nearly three pages and it’s as patronising as you’d expect, at one point she actually says “if you’re running low on fruit and veg pick up some of that”.

Wow @rage naan, this one paragraph captures EVERYTHING, doesn't it?

See? This is where good journalistic training delivers -- that well-crafted first paragraph that neatly sums up the whole story, Just a pity that, in capturing the small details of guest's chaoi and honking, he missed the big picture of her grift!

So sorry you had to go through that DWP nightmare, tenderstem. I've been through similar with them and I know how utterly tit it is.

It sucks that a crook like Jack managed to peddle her nonsensical guff for so long, while people genuinely struggling were gaslighted into thinking she had something to offer. It really pisses me off to think that people might've spent money they couldn't afford buying her books or trying out recipes that didn't work. And that people on low incomes might've sent her a few quid in response to her begging online, only because they believed she was also in poverty.

At one point I looked to borrow tin can cook from the Library but there were 26 people ahead of me (so glad for them it cost them nothing to discover it was all slop), I considered laying out for it but I couldn't really afford it and I really doubted anything nice could be made from tinned meat (again flashbacks to teenage years and my folks trying to make a silk purse out of tinned steak) so i left it THANK GOD.

A quick look and there's no queue for any of her books in our local authority library system, the scales have fallen in this pocket of the north 🍉

Glad to hear this. Especially because authors get a small payment every time their books are checked out of libraries (although they have to register for that scheme so it's possible Jack never got it together to do so and she would've sneered at the pennies it generates) but also because the people of The North deserve better than a half-baked, half-witted fraudster.

30 tweets deleted yesterday according to Social Blade, including Question Time. The memorial profile now looks like this. A load of bullshit and lies. Two year old fantasy VBI. Life Beyond My Wildest Dreams fantasy. Dead cat fantasy. Embarrassing.

Bold and shameless to refer to herself as a "Dead Cat on Twitter" when she has such a gruesome history with pets.

God she really is desperately trying to erase alll evidence of the 10 year grift isn't she. She's re-writing the past faster than Soviet apologists can say 'Holodomor'. There'll be nothng left of the Jack Monroe story. Thank god it's all on tattle!!

That “keynote talk” at Hay = a couple of hundred earnest people in the smallest tent listening to her honk on about herself on three hours’ sleep. The self-aggrandisement of her “wildest dreams”, such a sad sap.

My meal planning tip is to order nice and early on Deliveroo before the rush. And mix it up. Never have a chippy tea two nights in a row.

Anyway, since we were talking about chronic illness Jack, who remembers the marathon? This was also 2017 when she made a miraculous recovery from whatever meant she had to walk with a cane. (Thanks @Brian Butterfield for some of the screenshots).

Luckily the supporters cash goes straight to Mind, but charity or not I’d be peeved if I donated for someone to carry out a marathon and they didn’t even enter it.

Totally! I was meant to do the local half marathon but injured myself in training so couldn’t do it. I gave up cheese for 125 days (relevant to the charity I was fundraising for) instead because I didn’t want to not have suffered for the £ people donated.

giving up cheese would be harder than running a marathon* for me, TBH 🧀 🧀 🧀

(* I will never, ever be fit enough to run a marathon)

Me? I write down on a shopping list whatever needs restocking and know pretty much where I am with the contents of my kitchen from one day to the next.

Going by guests system, I am obviously doing this all wrong.

Then again, I have a job, family commitments, actual real friends, neighbours who I regularly interact with, and a cat who hasn't LEFT so our time constraints might not be the same.
Babe same. I use the Listonic app to keep track of groceries and I also make other lists on there. It's easy to use and do. Before that I wrote it down in a notepad. It helps if you have a meal planner and cook the same meals on rotation too. The reason it takes guest so long to go through her stock is because she has too many tins and packets. She over buys food, not the mark of someone poor. And it shows just how out of touch she is that she thinks everyone is going to need to spend ages hunting through their cupboards for food. Genuinely poor people will have barely anything to sort through.
