What the actual? I don't think I've ever had to put my name on anything I've ever donated. Even peoples online money raising things allow you to donate anonymously!
Boring update: if you want to gift aid when you donate to a charity (and you need to be a tax payer) you need to give your name/postcode/gift aid number.

If you just provide your name that will usually not be enough to identify you in the gift aid database.

However, this is only how I found it in the charity shop I volunteer in, not in the food bank Jack donates to under the cover of daylight.

Do we think that Jack might be spending this time triangulating? Imagine your buzzer goes off and you think it's a parcel but when you answer it you get, "Hi, I'm Jack Monroe. Writer, activist, single mum, author, TV presenter, accidental conqueror of my deepest fears..."
Giggling so much at this. I keep saying this intro in my head. I feel like if I say it out loud to anyone in real life they will look at me funny.

Ha! I'd force feed her a Vegemite sandwich then lock her in the shed with a few softy soft floofy Huntsman spiders. Lmao.

I never do gift aid because it just feels too time consuming, is this something I should do if we ever get to go into chazzas again? I'm sort of glad they're closed atm, I'm saving a fair bit of money. I might make a YouTube cartoon about it.

We have a lot of stuff to a charity shop when we moved and gift aided it. About a year later I got a lovely letter saying how much they’d made and how much gift aid they’d been able to get back. Was a tidy sum! So well worth it.
