Stuff used to be hanging up here. Again it supports a clean before estate agent photographs are taken.

Cat bowls just outside the kitchen.

This post it note should be on her wire rack.

note the sizeable collection of copper pots on the top of that cupboard, which aren't exactly the sort of thing you'd get cheap down the market ...

I have a sneaking suspicion that oor smol lass is still pissed off with Jane Root!

Call me a skint Northern peasant but this kitchen looks really lovely to me? Everything seems clean and well laid-out, and there's enough space for two or three - which is more than I can say for most of the student rental places and small flats I've known. Not sure how she can justify calling this a crap bungalow tbqh

Yup, you can get 'em for under a tenner in Wilkos if I remember correctly - and toasting in an oven costs far more in gas/electricity bills....
I agree. I would happily rent a place with this kitchen. Good layout and really large. Enough space for utensil bunting and a giant toaster.

Our Harry is always on duty. Gotta keep trying for that promotion.
It's becoming a problem. I'm forever triangulating things.

Like all extremely poor people with just one child, she needs at least seven expensive lunch receptacles to hand at all times. She’s definitely got hoarding and shopping addictions, I sincerely believe she should be seeking help for it. I’d have more sympathy if she wasn’t begging for money, but the root of it all lies in the compulsive spending. Aka, she’s terrible with money.

Honestly she should be careful cat tit can carry toxoplasmosis. Look it up, it's horrid. It's not something I would want to twit about with.
I have mentioned before, my partner caught this whilst doing gardening. He is now blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other. (No funny comments about that's why he is with me, nearly 20 years older than him 😂 ) Joking aside, he only just managed to save what sight he did. Most pet cats are properly vaccinated, but it is the strays that are the problem.

I went through a phase when I first started working of being absolutely terrible with spending. I grew up in actual poverty (not her idea of it - no car at all, never mind a Range Rover) and I really struggled when suddenly I could buy things like the lunchboxes that I’d never been able to get when I was younger. I wonder sometimes if her parents were selective about what she could have because they wanted to keep it equal with the foster children, or if they were insistant about what type of stuff they let in the house and that’s part of what is behind her compulsive buying.

The difference was I didn’t have a dependent child, I wasn’t crying poverty every five seconds and I wasn’t begging for money online (or anywhere). And I grew out of it.

We have about 14 cats now (a new addition is the fluffy Stacey) and some of them do sometimes jump up onto the kitchen counters, I can't stop them.
But what I can do is keep my kitchen clean and empty the bin and wash my hands and don't pretend to clean my manky cutlery.
PS - Kitchen painting update to follow
+ a photo of some of the moggies including Trousers.

No £10 toaster for Jack - got to be around the £60 mark and designer 🙄 - very ‘£20 for a weekly shop’ frugal there

if that is indeed "all" that ADHD entails, then surely that's like everyone at times! trying to be fair here - can't really blame the squiggles for rehashing this crap, given Jack's output. but, for the love of satan, how about a bit of critical thinking?!

All the comments are basically of the "hard relate" variety. Christ. 🙄 Everything they do has to be because of a condition. Last night I stayed up late messaging people and I usually take the stairs instead of the lift. What's my diagnosis, please? 😡

I made the whirly buns only I added caster sugar to the dough and three times as much dried fruitadded brown sugar and heaps more cinnamon to the filling and then brushed and scattered with sugar and cinnamon before baking, basically I didn’t follow her recipe as I knew it would be bland and shite
Woah woah woah FF, you can’t be changing it up! You have to waste your time and money to create something completely rank that your fam will hate you for. I don’t make the rules....😉

I have been on a grunka (did I say that right?) for weeks (read the DKL saga, #31 and the kitten 😢) but as I've been liking various comments I thought I'd de-lurk to say hi.

Quite some time ago I had very, very little money and my friend suggested A Girl Called Jack and I loosely followed on social media ever since. I like the mushroom and ale pie, OK, the only thing I've ever made. Some stuff she said seemed off at the time but having read through here now I see my suspicions were correct. I'm appalled that she's allowed to get away with it (until now, maybe, hopefully). Keep up the good work!

They're back ups because SB keeps hurling his foul lunches over fences on the way to school.
