I've only very recently got to watch Cuckoo's Calling and yes - Tom Burke looks nothing like Strike in my head looks like, but I don't mind it. Holly otoh looks more or less like I pictured Robin, albeit with a bit too red hair (in my head her hair is more blonde, it's described as golden but bright) and she is a little bit too old. I can't make up my mind about TV Charlotte - the actress is very beautiful in a "cold" way and in my mind, Charlotte is even more stunning but I'm not sure who could play that maybe an actress described so often as "turning heads" simply doesn't exist.
I liked the TV adaptation - it's good on its own and doesn't ruin the books. I like the books better, but I always do, but I think the series (or CC at least, as I haven't been able to watch anything else) are good on their own.

My headcanon Strike is Tom Davis so I always think the casting agent got the wrong Tom . My Charlotte is the actress who plays Elena from Peep Show.
Holliday is basically the perfect Robin!

Holly looks as perfect as ever in the pics for TIBH.

When I'm reading the books, I don't visualise Strike looking like Tom at all.

But, for me, Holly IS Robin

Holliday is exactly how I imagined Robin and I can't remember how I imagined Strike but when I read the last 2 books I imagined Tom. Probably because I like his gruff look and that coat

This would be a bad choice, honestly I just think they throw out names to see what the public reaction to it and then get someone who fits better (hopefully)…

I haven’t seen one comment that thought this would be a good idea. Aside from the physical differences, changing the race of Snape would change the bullying the marauders did to him too…just don’t do it.

I like them both in the series I had never seen either in anything before but watched the Cuckoo’s Calling before reading the book as I had hated the Casual Vacancy, but so glad I got into the strike books.

She spent a couple of months in Greenland and looks to me like a photo she could have taken there rather than anything to do with THM

Google reverse image search says Iceland but nothing confirmed yet, counting down the days, least we have the tv series, audio books, and books to be going on with lol, I keeping going back to the beginning.

I've been re reading the Ink Black Heart so that I can remember the plot when the series starts.
Am less confused this time round but there are an awful lot of suspects that have to be ruled out. I wonder if some of them will be cut from the TV adaptation I'm looking forward to seeing the game animation though.

Someone said to me the other day that JK really needs a good editor because her books are too long but it doesn't bother me because if I'm into the book then it's great that everything isn't wrapped up quickly.

I like the longer books something to get my teeth into, looking forward to the tv series might just watch them all again from the start lol, listening to Troubled Blood at present.
