I said this exact same thing to my husband during the episodeHahahaha yess, why was this so much more disturbing than marrying siblings
You can probably get a free trial with Now TV? I have a Now TV subscription and that's how I watch. Maybe wait until next week once the first series is finished, so you can binge watch and then cancel the free trial if you want to save the money!Does anyone know where I can watch these online? Weâve had to cancel sky now as it was just another bill. Perfect timing with just 2 episodes left ffs Thankyou

The book âFire and Bloodâ is nothing like âA Game of Thronesâ. There are no POV characters, itâs not set up in the way that you learn so much about the characters thoughts and feelings and why they do things. Itâs a narrator telling us what supposedly happened through different (unreliable) sources. I think the show has done really well to take these characters weâve only read a little bit about (basically 2D) and give them some depth. The dragonpit scene with Princess Rhaenys, it was a badass moment but it didnât happen in F&B, like many things. It was done to end E9 with some drama (and dragons) and to set-up the finale where Rhaenys will inform Rhaenyra and Daemon of whatâs going on at Kingâs Landing.I seem to be alone here but I am struggling to invest as much emotionally in this as the GoT. It has all of the ingredients but doesnât seem to have the depth of characters, most of whom seem one dimensional in compassion. Without Paddy or Matt Smith in last nightâs episode it just showed up the lack of big hitters. Itâs a bit like watching Championship football after watching Premier league football for years. Now they have done away with the gratuitous sex seems it looks like they have thrown in the foot fetish thing just to keep it âadult.â If the child fighting pits was such a big thing, how come we have only just heard about it? No doubt it is the last we will hear of it too. The obvious thing to do was to torch the coronation party, right up GoT street. But she couldnât because that is the only story arc, do that and there is no civil war. It is done. If feels very contrived whereas GoT was organic and was happy to throw curve balls. I have not read the books so I have no idea how this plays out, but at this point I canât see how they are going to make it last for 4 series without dramatically expanding the canvas and developing more fringe characters.
Thereâs a LOT of ground to cover for 4 series. Not sure how far weâre going to get into it in the next ep cause admittedly the pacing is unpredictable, but there are new characters that are important, lots of battles, lots of heartbreak. I think it is missing some of the charm of GOT but if I am honest with myself, I didnât think GOT was all that until maybe the 7th episode (with the exception of the last scene of ep 1 haha). Knowing how the story pans out, I think weâve got a lot of good stuff to come.I seem to be alone here but I am struggling to invest as much emotionally in this as the GoT. I personally like the less violent scenes - I feel like a lot of GoT had violence especially against women, and I really didn't like seeing that on TV. The scene with the feet, the servant girl who was raped, in my opinion were good at showing the depraved behaviours without having to actually show violence.I seem to be alone here but I am struggling to invest as much emotionally in this as the GoT. As for the baby fight club, I think it was to show how crime has risen and the gold cloaks have turned a blind eye to things since Daemon was commander of the City Watch. Under him, the punishments were harshly meted out but it was also mentioned that crime rates in Kingâs Landing had dropped significantly. It also showed the nature of Aegon (the new king) that he partakes in such seedy underground activities and how he also fathered bastard children around the city. He is not worthy of the crown; the same people rushing to install him on the throne were condemning his half sister for having bastard children in the previous episodes.
It was inferred they are AegonsI need to rewatch the episode but did anyone else notice the white-haired children at the fight club? I wondered if they were illegitimate Targaryens...
It is not pleasant but it happened/happens. The Middle Ages were particularly brutal, especially towards women so I can see why they didnât shy away from it. As you say though, there are ways of handling things that can get the message across in a meaningful way without being too graphic. I think GoT was happy to use nudity to get the viewing figures up, but once it became a âthingâ it was interesting to see how the nude count fell away. This could have a lot more nudity and you wouldnât know because it is so dark you can barely see anything anyway!I personally like the less violent scenes - I feel like a lot of GoT had violence especially against women, and I really didn't like seeing that on TV. I also think the actors themselves are great at giving the characters depth. I like how my opinions of Alicent have changed so much. Also if Rhaenys torched them, that would be the end of the story haha! No Dance of Dragons would happen.

With all of that said, Iâm really hoping Emma knocks it out of the park with their acting going forward. It might be the way Rhaenyra has been written, but Emma feels a bit wooden right now. Lots of emotional things to come for Rhaenyra so hoping they get to flex their acting chops. Theyâre already a big hit on Tik Tok with the negroni clip lol
