This is me also. Don't watch anything supernatural as I'm just not interested. Give me a slasher film any day. No real plot? No real problem if you like Scream then the tv series of it is good. Season 3 is crap IMO though. First two are worth watching but if you've seen slasher films, you'll likely guess the ending. There's a show called Slasher on Netflix that is good too. I watched Trick on Netflix the other day. It got torn to shreds in online reviews but I thought it was pretty decent. Don't get me wrong it won't win any awards but it's fine for one of those so bad it's good films. People have mentioned it above but Hush genuinely scared me. Been watching horror films since I was a kid and not much phases me but Hush actually gave me the creeps.I love the Saw movies
Hate anything with ghosts / supernatural storylines
Also love the Scream movies!
Anything with boring old murder, none of this ghost/alien/werewolf crap!
I remember watching Mum and Dad as a teen, its horrendous, made my stomarch turn!I love horror films, but they mess with my head so bad
Three films I have watched and thought WTF
Mum and Dad - British horror which is totally fucked up
The loved ones - Australian horror
Martyrs - French horror with subtitles
Being a bit of a dinosaur, I can recommend the following selection of classic horror films. Modern audiences will probably sneer at the primative special effects and senarios, but they are worth watching.
An American werewolf in London
The Omen
Theatre of blood - Vincent Price - a little tonge in cheek this one.
Quatermass and the pit.
The Devil rides out.
I recommend some of the portmanteau films made by Amicus and Hammer.
From beyond the grave
Tales from the crypt. Ect.
Yes I have heard of Whistle and I'll come to you, not seen it yet though. Don't look now is an absolute classic film, but difficult to watch because of the subject matter - grief.Really like your suggestions there. Recently watched Qatermass and the Pit and found it genuinely creepy. I'd also add the original 'Whistle and I'll Come to You' to that list.
Also a fan of Rosemary's Baby, Don't Look Niw and the 70's remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

May I also recommend The Signal man, and if you fancy a binge watch Hammer house of horror, its not a film but a 13 part series. Some episodes are better than others though. Hope I haven't bored you.
The book sounds interesting, do you know the title? No, not at all. Definitely give Whistle and I'll Come to You a watch. Not the John Hurt version, though, the original. I'll check out the Signal Man
I used to sit up late and watch the Hammer Horrors with my nan when I was little. Do you remember Dr Phibes?
There's a lot of TV from the 70's-mid 80's that was rather creepy. In fact, there's a very comprehensive book that explores that era of TV and pop culture and it's overall creepiness.
The book sounds interesting, do you know the title?
Do you remember a children's series called "Children of the stones?" It was a brilliant series, really creepy. Some of it was filmed in Avebury in Wiltshire - well worth a visit.
Sinister and insidious are really good
Sinister was the first, and probably only horror that actually gave me nightmares.
My other favourites include The Forest (2016) and Us (2019) very interesting and unique plot!
I Spit On Your Grave movies - but I find them very gruesome to watch.
All the Wrong Turn movies.
All the insidious films, SinisterDoes anyone have any Netflix horror suggestions? Everytime I start something it's rubbish or I just spend 3hrs scrolling.
I like zombies, the occult, supernatural, dracular, witches etc. Anything based on true stories is always good.
Thank youAll the insidious films, Sinister
Orphan is good
Truth or dare
Hush
Cabin in the woods
A few to have a go with if you’ve not seen them xx
