Horror films

Iā€™ve seen a few people were disappointed which is fair enough, everyone has their likes and dislikes but Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s because they went into it expected ā€œproper horrorā€ rather than creepy/weird/eerie.
I loved it and keep thinking about it šŸ¤£

Longlegs was absolutely mental wasn't it?

I swear I spent 90% of the film trying to work out what the hell was going on and I was still wrong. I actually had a headache when I left the cinema šŸ˜‚
Yep it was šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Iā€™ve put this in a spoiler for those that want to go in blind to the plot. I saw it was compared to silence of the lambs. I disagree with that I think theyā€™re totally different films within their own right. I got more of a The Shinning/ Amityville Horror vibes personally. I liked the concept and thought it was something different to what weā€™ve seen or were expecting to see

I still think more films should take a leaf out of the promotion for this one. Not giving too much away in the trailer has been the biggest draw for people to go see it and the more films that do this, the better

Agreed, the marketing was immense, especially when you consider that they didn't have Nic Cage in any of the promotional pics/trailers!

But I can only assume that the people who reviewed it as 'the scariest film in 30 years' have never actually seen a horror film before šŸ˜‚ It was more of a thriller than a horror in my opinion!

Watched Longlegs this afternoon agree with the comments itā€™s more a thriller than a horror. It was shot beautifully in a way that unnerved you the whole time. Could hear people were disappointed leaving the cinema due to all the hype about the scariest film ever. Would give it 7.5/10

What I will say I wish it hadnā€™t taken the satanist twist and kept it more like he was doing it on his own. Did laugh though at the end scene of longlegs blowing a kiss at the camera.

During a certain scene in Longlegs all I wanted to do was say this but I kept my cinema decorum:

Watched The Nun 2 earlier, if The Nun was a 6/10 then this was a 5. I feel like a lot of tension was robbed early and there was too much going on in the third act.

Iā€™m still a longlegs stan and every so often I go up to my mum ā€œhere she isā€¦ itā€™s nearly someoneā€™s birthdayyyyyyā€ in his voice šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ itā€™s nowhere near her birthday btw šŸ¤£

I finally watched Abigail tonight and I really enjoyed it. Iā€™m a sucker (pun intended) for a vampire movie and I liked the mix of humour with gore too. I also didnā€™t see the end part coming so I did like that. I think it would have hit even harder if theyā€™d have kept the fact she was a vampire out of the trailer. Was sad seeing Angus Cloud too but saw there was a nod to him at the end which I appreciated (Iā€™m a euphoria fan)

Everyone is also mentioning a new film thatā€™s meant to be ā€œthe scariest film of the yearā€ called oddityā€¦gives of supernatural vibes but not sure as not watched the full trailer

I watched The Turning the other night. It's another version of The Turn of The Screw by Henry James.

It started off very well. Suitably creepy and then lost it towards the end. A Haunting in Bly Manor is far better.

I have never watched The Innocents with Deborah Kerr. That's supposed to be a very good version.

Not a horror film as such more of a creepy thriller I guess? But Greta has to be one of the most annoying films ever - why does it take so long for Francis to attack her when sheā€™s been kidnapped, she could have punched/headbutted Greta easily! And when she does eventually whack her with a rolling pin she runs INTO THE BASEMENT to get away WTF šŸ˜‚
