I had nightmares for a week after watching the strangers. Since then I haven’t been able to watch many scary movies.
I liked sleepy hollow, the others and the ring.

Nightmare on Elm Street are still my favourite apart from the remakes and Freddy vs Jason
Saw movies and final destinations films were alright.
I agree the Strangers really bothered me the fact nobody has ever been caught.
I watching spit on your grave couple nights ago some of the scenes were horrendous to watch.

The imagery is creepy in Insidious. It always scares me when the scary face appears when they are sitting at the table.
Kill List is one of my favourites. Genuinely scary rather than just jump scares.
I went to see Midsommar at the cinema when it came out... at the start I was thinking oh this is going to be scary! Then it just got quite bizzarre
it was weird but I didn’t find it particularly scary

I never understand how anyone enjoyed this film let alone found it remotely scary, I genuinely thought it was a comedy/spoof ‘horror’ type thingHaven’t seen Babadook but just googling it has terrified me

Just watched a short film from 1990 called 12:01pm, starring Kurtwood Smith and found it scary than any slasher/monster film. Worth a look if you have thirty minutes, it's on Youtube!
no one ever seems to remember this film when I mention it ! It’s so fantastic! The atmosphere, the slow burn creepiness, the use of sound, I think it’s one of the best modern horrors I’ve ever seen.

Is Eden Lake a horror film? I thought it was scary because of the content and the plot but I wouldn’t have classed it as horror. Still a great film though. In fact, I’ll have to watch it again soon.

Scream is always a good go-to. I even liked Scream 4 (didn’t like 3 though). There are plans for a fifth last I heard.
Drag Me to Hell has loads of hilarious moments if you want laughs with a few scares.
The film that unsettled me the most when watching it was Fire Walk With Me.

There are some truly disturbing moments in that film. Plus, Sheryl Lee's performance was so raw it was like I could feel Laura's pain.
